2011 Family Moments Album by Dedra Long

So, you have a special project and you are on the lookout for the perfect collection to help you document and re-live those memories of your family. I have done this very thing so many times over the years and honestly when I see that collection I have been looking for, it is an instant "ah-ha" moment.

That "ah-ha" moment happened to me when I saw the Fabrications Collection from Teresa. An easy and elegant palette that can be used for almost any memory, moment, person, vacation, etc. that you want to document. I used a wide variety of papers and embellishments to create a mini album of our family's 2011 memorable events. From our favorite 2011 family portrait, to Shelby's homecoming, to Ellie's first horse ride, to out trip to Maui and the end of 2011 when we went to Monterey Bay. I started this album with the Fabrications 10" x 10" Chipboard Album.

One of my favorite metal pieces are the clocks and I love as much "bling" as I can get. The clocks were arranged inside of a black flourish frame, Teresa's Blingage was added to the centers of the clocks and finished off with one fabric flower.

The "trick" to each page of this mini album was treating each one as a layout. Cutting the foundation pages to 8" x 8" and stitching around them.

Adding paint splatter and using edge punches in combination with the Fabrications paper created the depth I was looking for.

With each page add brads, more blingage and chipboard stickers and you're album is complete.
Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Love the paint splatter! Even though it's a messy technique, when put alongside TC designs, it becomes FAB! Totally gorgeous album!!
