Amanda's favourite summer release

Hi everyone! It was a close contest, but I have to admit that World Traveler was my absolute favorite from Teresa's summer CHA releases. I love the mixture of patterns and the texture of the papers and I couldn't resist making this layout before getting started with the brand new releases coming this month.

I'm sure you've seen the new releases on Teresa's blog, but if not I suggest you head over there right away and check them out!

It's been a long time since we went on a proper family holiday overseas, but we spend a lot of time out and about visiting places closer to home in the summer. My son loves water of any kind and will use any excuse to kick off his shoes and jump right in - clothes and all!

The paper behind the photo is from the 6x6 pad. I've loved the addition of the smaller papers this time around. Sometimes you just need the pattern on a small scale. I left the strip along the top of this piece as I liked the way it looked.

Ususally when I create a layout, I like to start with a plainer background. It gives me a blank canvas and the freedom to play with the patterns that are inspiring me at the moment. I like to cut and play and layer with small pieces of paper - a lot of times I couldn't even tell you how I got from A to B... it just happens :)

I hope you like my page! I can't wait to share some creations with you from the NEW collections soon!

Favorites with Cheri Piles

Oh it's so hard to pick a favorite project, I put my heart and soul into all of my projects!

I decided I would share with you ONE favorite from each of the lines...

First up is Haunted Hallows, I love how well this paper went so well together. As shown in this layout you can see I used just about EVERY paper from the line on a one page layout!!

Then comes Christmas Home... I have sooo sooo many favorites, this was really hard. I chose my most treasured project, the mini album full of Christmas traditions...

World traveler, hands down this journal album is my top favorite project I created from this line...Oh but there was that old fashioned calendar too... Ok, ok, I choose....

That was TOUGH!!  I hope you enjoyed some of my favorites! Happy New Year!

Explore by Stacey Michaud

As the New Year approaches, many folks are reflecting on this past year and the days ahead.  Some are considering what their word of the year will be and others are setting goals.  It is a time for personal soul-searching.

It is the perfect time to send a card to a loved one who is gearing up for the months to come.  Encourage your friend or family member to explore and create, to embark on a new journey for 2012.  I have an example of a card right here:

December: Tag You are It! by: Stacey Michaud

Happy December everyone!  I am sharing an easy to make, yet attractive tag with you today!  Tags are super versatile...they jazz up a gift, can take the place of a card and look great all grouped together!  I used the World Traveler line to create my tag.

I started with the graphic and very usuable polka dotted paper!  It provides a nice neutral background with a pop of color!  I layered some strips featuring the map paper!  Maps are so hot right now!  The Enjoy the Journey is a sticker from Teresa's new sticker packets!  Here is a tip...

I like for my elements to have a bit of pop.  Stickers seem flat to me sometimes.  I solved this dilemma by mounting my sticker onto a smaller piece of cardstock.  I then used foam squares to give it dimension.  Another trick to make any sticker lose its stick...rub the adhesive with cornstarch or baby powder!

I don't think a tag or card is complete without texture.  I added it in two ways by knotting the tulle ribbon and using the twine to hang my star.  The brad finishes it off and gets rid of the hole on the top of the tag!

How do you use tags in your scrappy world?  However you do it...enjoy the journey!

CHA Summer Releases! Haunted Hallows, Christmas Home and World Traveler

We have been so busy these past few weeks creating up a storm, getting ready for the Craft and Hobby Association.

These new lines are wonderful, each of us on the team loves these new lines Teresa created:
Haunted Hallows, so fun from spiders, poison labels, to birds on a chandelier - many of us on the team could not put these down!!

World Traveler - This textured paper is just amazing. There are luggage tags, maps, passport stamps, collage, film strips, just an amazing collection to show off your traveling photo's!

Christmas Home - Love the green and red in this line! There are so many fun ideas just waiting to be had with this collection from snow filled days to Christmas Eve with the family. We are finding that many of these papers could also be used for other projects outside of the holidays - it is just that versatile and beautiful!

We are all sure you will love these as much as we all do.

Be sure to be checking Teresa's blog for sneak peaks of our designs.
