12" x 8" scrapbook travel album by Cheri Piles using the Memorabilia collection.

Hey everyone!! This is a huge book filled with over 50 photos and over 25 pages and even more flip pages!!! I'll apologize now if this post is taking forever to load. Sometimes I leave pages out then get requests to see MORE, so I am giving you MORE!!

I used the collection Memorabilia. I really liked how well it went with the photos. There were two photos that inspired how I would create this book, the picture on the cover and the picture of the Eiffel tower. They both had a common key element that I knew I could pull into the entire book. They both had golden hues to them. So from my stash I created all of my base pages using a thick black card stock and also from my stash I had the golden striped paper. When I'm out and about I always look for timeless papers for just this purpose and I'm glad I had them! I cut all of my base pages then added strips of the striped paper to each page. I corner rounded only the out side edge corners. I knew by doing this that it would pull the entire book together. For my covers I used double thick black chipboard and did the same as the inner pages.

What I loved about this page is that there was already a spot on the paper for my friend to journal in. I mounted almost all of the photos onto white cardstock, this helps keep the focal point of the photo. I also added photo corners - I think photo corners are like lip liner is to lipstick! It's a small detail that can be overlooked or not noticed but is one more detail that helps pull the look all together.

For this page, I wanted to keep with the vertical lines of the statues in the photo and the pattern of this paper was the perfect choice. 

I loved this page because the photo is the front of a mini file folder which gave me more room for more photos. I continued the gold scallop border from the previous page to keep it consistent. She can add the name of the building on the tab of the file folder which I liked!

Here is the file folder opened up, down below the picture on the left is more room to journal.

For this page, I added a large journal tag on the left and layered over it. When I added the photos, I abutted them together in the middle and added photo corners to the top and bottom corners making one large photo. I created a grouping overlapping the picture seams and journal tag so there are two distinctive spots to journal but it doesn't separate the overall look. 

Did I mention... there are a TON of photos in this book?!? Here's another way to add more... I created a "FLAP" page and adhered it using washi tape on both sides of the flap. 

Here is the flap opened. On the left I layered the photos the same way using washi tape so they flip up! On the right side of the flap I did the same with the journal tag so there is a LOT of space for her to journal as well.

I will tell you, when I saw this photo I debated to keep it or not. But I knew it must have some meaning so I just rolled with it and I love how it turned out, I trimmed some extra strips of the blue paper to continue the lines in the photo. I only added photo corners on the right side, it would have disrupted the visual lines if I had added them to all four corners. 

This is not a full size page. By keeping it a little smaller in the width it gives more "depth" to the book. This is another spot to journal.

Here is another flip page but this time I just folded paper over at the top and added a strip of washi tape at the bottom of the sheet to give it a longer look. 

On the inside I cut a journal card in half so she could add a little note for each photo. 

This is another page where I grouped two photos together by adding photo corners to only the top and bottom corners. 

Here you are looking at two smaller pages, the top is a tag which pulls out for more journaling and the bottom has just one photo on each side of the flap. 

This is the right side, where this time I added three photos and only added photo corners to the top and bottom corners. This works because they are all scenic photos.

I have to say, this was a unique photo!!

This is one of those papers where I loved the outside outline in the white, it was originally 12 x 12 and I kept cutting it down until I had the "frame" I was looking for. It is always best to take your time and start cutting it down in small increments, you can always make it smaller but you can't make it bigger unless you want to start over. The gold and black paper is from my stash and you can see I punched a few photo corners using the same paper. 

The base of this page (the only one like it in the book) is actually one of the large mini file folders folded out. then I layered paper over it, this is perfect for journaling. I love the tab at the top. 

Here is another example of a smaller page. I added the card to it and it pulls together with the page tab and the black space on the page behind it. I always give a lot of thought to those details when creating pages that overlay each other. 

I loved this picture how there wasn't anyone filling the scene. 

I wanted to keep these photos separate so I added photo corners to each visable corner and tied the page together by adding matching border strips to each side. 

This is one of my favorite pages, I added the large envelope and card for more journaling. But it's the banners that I love... You will soon see how it is all pulled together.

This is a smaller width page that I added "memories" border to. At the top of the page it pulls over more banners that match the envelope. I also added three photos using the "waterfall" technique and the backs of each photo are backed with card stock for journaling too!

On this page I added another border strip with the banners. 

Here is how all three pages look all open, see how all of the banners pull it all together?

Here I added photos but separated them using a border strip since they were so different it was best to keep them separated. But do notice the grouping on the left with the circles and journal card. 

On the right side I have more smaller pages with just photos, but watch when you flip them... 

Now notice how the grouping from before plays well with the grouping on the back of the photo pages. Again, this is a detail that will notice but not know or understand how it came together. I did the first page then just added the second grouping playing off of the first page and it works. 

And then the last page, just real simple since the other side was such a statement. The back page to this is not shown but it is another document journal page.

Yvonne Blair Gratitude Journal featuring Memorabilia

Hi everyone! Can you believe Thanksgiving is this week??? 

I am so excited because I am hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year!

It is the first time.  

We will be having my whole in-law family here for dinner.

I am a little nervous, but I think it will all be just fine, wink.  

In honor of Thanksgiving I created this little Gratitude Journal.

I wanted to be able to have a small book that I could slip into my scrapbook with the traditional scrapbook 

two page spread.  Now I can contain everything within that spread.  Love that. 

I will put it in between the two page layout using a page protector that I cut down to size and then sealed with Decorative tape from the Memorabilia line.  It really is neat to be able to customize page protectors doing this.  I use this technique quite often actually.

The book itself is 4 1/4 x 9 3/4.  It will fit nicely in a pocket page protector. 

I cut three of the Memorabilia papers to 8 1/2 x 9 3/4, folded them in half and adhered them back to back. 

I covered the spine with Memorabilia Decorative tape to finish it off. 

Above there is a fold out where I can add some hidden journaling.

 I love using Teresa's envelopes as a place to stick extra embellishments, but it is also a great place to be able to write and tuck some more personal feelings. 

 This is where I will add pics from the day that are not included on the two page layout.  

I plan on using my instax camera alot on Thanksgiving and this will be a great place to tuck those pics. 

 Here is a little close-up of the front cover.  I like the layers.  The stamps are from Teresa's line she did with Fiskars that is selling at Joann's.  Love this set.  Perfect for this time of year!

Memorabilia Projects by Tessa

I love making cards!  It's my favorite thing to create so of course, that's what I started with this week when I had some time to craft.  I pulled out the Memorabilia collection and got to work! :)  First I made a collage style hello card:

Collage style cards are my favorite!  I love adding the layers and textures one at a time, building up into the look I'm going for.  With this card, I started with a pale blue card base.  Next, I cut a panel of the Document patterned paper and splattered it with mint colored mist.  Once it was dry, I stamped the hot air balloon from the Memorabilia stamp set.  Then I added my doily, folded in half and layered some Memorabilia washi tape over the seam.  I wanted to add some banners next- I chose two, one from the Memorabilia sticker sheet and one from the chipboard elements.  I added the twine next, tying it in a bow.  My last layer was the cute sentiment from the Memorabilia sticker sheet.  I added it to the card front with dimensional adhesive and embellished it with a couple of epoxy dots.  I finished by adding the panel to my card base with dimensional foam adhesive.

Aren't the layers fun?  :)  After I finished my collage style card, I wanted to do something simple.  The banners on the Recorded patterned paper inspired this one:

I cut a panel out of the Recorded patterned paper out so that the banners would run along the top of my card.  I stamped the sentiment in the lower right hand corner using Versamark ink and then embossed it with white embossing powder.  I flicked the panel with white mist and let it dry.  Once it was dry, I lightly sponged white ink around the edges of the card front.  Lastly, I embellished with the Memorabilia epoxy dots.

It's an easy to make card with a big impact I think! 

After two cards, I was ready to create something a little different.  I grabbed a clear pillow box I had in my stash to decorate- it's the perfect size for a gift card or a small treat:

I started this project with some found items.  I tore a page out of an old book and wrapped it around the center of the pillow box.  Next, I wrapped it with some dark gray yarn.  I cut a heart out of the Quatrefoil patterned paper and added it to the center using dimensional adhesive.  The sentiment banner came next- it's from the Memorabilia die-cut sheet.  Lastly, I embellished it with some of the pretty Memorabilia sequins.  I just love them!

I really enjoyed creating these projects!  The smaller canvas of cards and goodie boxes is perfect- not too much space to fill and so fun to give away!

Thinking Of You

Good morning everyone, Stacy Rodriguez here with you today.  I have a friend who is in need of a little pick me up.  I wanted to create a card to send her way and simply love the colors and design of the Memorabilia collection.  I pulled out the pattern papers and embellishements and started to cut, ink and layer it up.  I tend to not make cards so much but i'm very happy with how this one turned out.

You can see in the photo above the gold glitter borders work wonderfully on the card.  Mix that with some seam binding, die cuts, stamping and flowers....well that gives you one amazing creation.

I used the enamel dots in the two corners to take up some of the open space above and below each gold border.

Directions -

1 - Cut cardstock to 11" x 4 1/2" and score and fold in half.

2 - Cut your base pattern paper of choice to 5 1/4" x 4 1/4" ink and adhere centered on card base.

3 - Cut additional strip of paper for the center of the card.  Cut this to 4 1/2" x 2" and center on the card from edge to edge.

4 - Cut any of the border strips to 4 1/2" long and adhere above and below the strip of pattern paper across the center.

5 - Add any embellishments you would like in the center of the card.

6 - Lastly embellish the corners with enamel dots

Stitched journal book "Giving Thanks" using Memorabilia by Cheri Piles

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was to make this one, I am going to use it at Thanksgiving to pass around the table for my family to write in and document what they are most thankful for this year. I think it will be fun to look back on. Everyone in our family has had some significant change this year in their lives and it will be a good reminder to all of us. 

On the cover I dolled it up with some of the gold sequins and stitched them in place. I then added the "Memories" from the die cut sheet and layered the letters over each other attaching to the back of the cover then added the border strip and my title "Giving Thanks 2013" from the sticker sheet. 

I covered the back of the memories die cuts with washi tape and layered another strip from the die cut borders. I added the calendar from the die cuts and tied a string through the star button to highlight Thanksgiving day. The second page can be used for journaling. 

I LOVE the sticky notes and this was a perfect project to line them up like a border on the right. I then layered more washi tape and added black sequins. I just love the look of it!! The sticky notes hang over the page about a half an inch. 

This is one of my favorite pages. I love the washi tape frame around the silhouettes. 

Here's a little tip for the frame: Use your ruler to get a crisp tear line for your frame, it gives it a clean look. 

I inserted this "Flap" page a a tag and added "thankful" to the inside of it. You can write on the front with a white pen.

I added pocket pages and tags for extra journaling or photo's. 

I love this grouping, the larger banner is half of one of the die cut border strips. 

On the left I added another flap page, attaching it to the book with washi tape so it flips open as well. I loved the look of the sticky notes so much I had to have another page incorporating more! 

Last but not least... Another grouping that I LOVE.... "Remember this time together". 

Family is so important and this Thanksgiving we will share our thoughts and dreams and what we are all so greatful for, being with one another. 

I hope you are inspired to create something meaningful as well.
