I love the Holidays.  One of my favorite things about the holidays are the decorations.  I used Teresa Collins Christmas Home collection, some styrofoam cones and a shadow box frame to create a decor to display in my home during the Holidays.  I just simply wrapped the cone with the card stock and added embellishments.  As far as the frame I just placed a 12x12 card stock and matted my photo and you're done.  A simple christmas decor.

Teresa Collins Design Team - Getting to know Maridette Cachola

We are very excited for you to get to know Maridette Cachola. We asked her some questions so you could get better. This is what she had to say:    

Maridette Cachola

What's my Scrapbooking style? 
Not quite sure what you call it.  For one thing it is definitely girly.  I love damask, crowns, bling, chandelier,velvety textures, glitter well...you get the idea.  Mini books are my first love- the chunkier the better.  When I create mini books I love creating them with interactive pages with tags, journaling cards and pockets.  I also mix it up with the versatility of digital scrapbooking...HYBRID scrapbooking.  Once I learned the digi aspect of my craft it opened up a whole new world.  It created an endless possibility in my work.

How did you start scrapbooking?
I started in high school.  I created this 3 ring 8 1/2 x 11 album that's filled with dance pictures, friends, hanging out, memorabilia, concert tickets, confetti and words that are cut out from magazines.  I became a "serious" scrapbooker once my daughter was born.  I wanted to preserve our familys' memories so she may look back and know why she is who she is.

What influences your designs?
Scrapbooking products along with my photos influence how I design my projects.  I love the inspiration from  other crafters whether it be in magazines or scrapbooking websites.  Photography, home designs magazines, clothing and furniture stores also have a big part of my creative process.

How long does it take to do a layout?
It takes about 2-3 hours to do a layout and longer for mini book.

What does your work area look like when you are working on a project?
My craft table does get messy but not too messy!

What is your favorite color combination? 
Pink and black, pink,grey and white, yellow, orange and blues.

Do you have any other hobbies?  
My other passion is Photography.  Love, love it!  I love shopping whether it be for clothes, home decor and of course scrapbooking products.  I also love decorating my home.

Other supplies:  Black cardstock, adhesive, mini attacher and Ranger Distress Inks-vintage


Instructions:

Preparing page components

1.  Cut the following pieces from your papers

• Trim all 4 sides from the “Practice” paper
• From the “tags” paper cut out the “sports” and “champion” tags
• the month circle & football  circle from the “circle tags” paper
• the “Game day” shields from the “shields” paper
• From the “Black numbers” paper cut #4 & #3
• 
  

2. Distress the “Practice” paper using Ranger distress ink in vintage

Assembling your page:

1. Using the “Red Stars” cardstock as your base, Adhere the “ Practice” paper centrally
2. Mat your picture (5x7) onto black cardstock then place onto the left side of the “practice” page
3. Attach the “sports” tag to the right of the photo
4. Slightly overlap the “champion” tag to the right of the “sport” tag
5. Place the “month” circle over the “sport” tag but slightly overlapping onto the champion tag.
6. Adhere #3 at the bottom right corner of the “champion” tag right to the edge of the red star paper.  attach #4 to the left of #3
7. right below champion tag, attach four brads in a row
8. Adhere the “football” circle to the bottom left corner of the photo
9. Attach the large graphic star and small star chipboard next to the “football” circle
10. Glue the “game day” shield making sure the top part of the shield folds over then using your tiny attacher staple just above the red stars where it folds.

Teresa Collins Designs - POSH, Layout inspiration

Posh is such a fun line to play with. These ladies are showing us some great layouts, their creativity using these papers amaze us. We hope you are as inspired as we are.

Team member Maridette Cachola created this layout, her attention to detail and cutting skills are impressive!

She Used pop dots for the butterflies and the label. Cut the damask strip and placed it on top of the paper.  Then placed the white tulle in between the cardstock and the paper.

She Added pop dots to give the crown some dimension.

 I cut the flourish design on the left and placed it on top the cardstock using pop dots to add dimension.

Team member Jamie Harder created this fabulous layout of her beautiful daughter playing dress up. Rightly called Glamour Girl. We love her clean lines and they way she incorporates multiple photo's into her layouts.

 Here Jamie shows us how she cut out the cameo from the Cameo paper and used it as an accent piece.

Teresa Collins Designs POSH Jewelery And Newsletter

A girl can never have too much bling. This is why we love jewelry so much. We have two amazing designers who like to mix things up with Teresa Collins Posh line and jewelry. These are the beautiful creations they have created:

Maridette Cachola altered this great ring using the Black Lace and Gray Flourishes paper from the POSH paper line.

Cheri Piles created a reversible necklace with Posh and Blingage:

Cheri was kind enough to share how to create this necklace. Here are the directions below:

Supplies:
BLINGAGE: Chain from Ashley's Necklace Morgans Teardrop Small Black round from Seth's Fleur De Lis Gentry's Glitter
Posh paper used: Cameo paper Pink Fishnet paper Gray flourishes paper side B
Misc. Jump rings, silver foil tape


1.cut two CAMEO"S from the cameo paper, glue the cameo's onto chipboard and then together. 
2.Glue Gentry's Glitter to the scallop edges of the cameo's and set aside to dry.  
3.Cut small circle from the pink fishnet paper, glue it to the back of tear drop round gem, cutting off any access paper. I find it's easier to do this way vs. trying to size it or to  create a pattern.
4.Cut a tear drop shape out of side B of the Gray flourishes paper glue to back of tear drop and cut off access.  Line each piece with silver foil tape. 
5. Then I went back to the cameo and filled with Glossy Accents, punched holes in cameo for jump rings 
6. Finally I attached all the pieces. I also added the center piece of Seth's fleur de Lis to the chain.

The best part of this necklace is that It's reversible! I love that so much! I hope you enjoy your necklace as much as I do.
