A little patriotic project from Cheri using the TCebosser and Xyron!

Hey everyone, In honor of my birthday being last weekend on FLAG DAY I was feeling inspired to create a little something patriotic for our home. I wanted to make something that would sit on our mantel and this turned out to be a great addition, do you like it?

These are the supplies I started with - my ebosser which I also used to cut all of my little white stars and the WOOD GRAIN Folder and (Star folder - I did not end up using the star folder as I had planned), adhesive from Xyron, a craft star shaped box, a wood candle holder that I painted with red glitter paint and finally some red, white and blue paper.

First I embossed my red, white and blue papers using the Wood Grain Folders - I wanted my flag to look like it had movement and this was just PERFECT for this effect. I cut my red and white strips 1/2". My home is very "rustica" so I ended up inking the edges so it would fit in with my decor. Now you can see in this photo I adhered my stripes from the center, using the Xyron Glue stick - truly when adhering to chipboard, you can't go wrong with a good glue stick. I just kept alternating my stripes then trimmed them off when I was done. Then I added the blue on the opposite side.

I loved being able to cut all my stars but to adhere them is easiest when you have a sticker maker, it makes it super quick!!

Here is my finished project, I tied it with a little burlap bow to finish it off.
I hope you enjoyed todays project! ~Cheri

Mothers Day tutorial with Cheri Piles using the Basically Essentials Instagram Banner Kit

Hey there! Mothers day is right around the corner and I wanted to share with you a quick and easy project that would make a great little gift. I don't know about you but my daughter has been taking "selfies" so I went to her instagram page and printed one of her selfy pictures from 2012. This would work for any age!!
I wanted to create something fun and unique so I used the new Basically Essentials instagram banner kit. This banner kit is so fun and as you know with scrapbooking there are NO RULES!! So I switched it up and created a mini album with 6 of the pages, it comes with 8 pages, beautiful papers and ribbon. I corner rounded each of my 6 pages.

I wanted my book to have a cover so I cut a 4"x12" strip from the Daily Stories "ombre circles" paper. Gently fold it in half - and slip it into your new Teresa Collins Xyron 2 hole punch and punch your holes. Corner round all of your corners.

Then using a score board score 1/2" between each of the holes to create the spine of your book. Decorate your cover using embellishments from the Daily Stories collection. I used the journal card from the "currently"' paper and corner rounded the right sides. Then I added the thin monthly word strips from the side b of "ombre circles". I layered washi tape above the word strips. I added the layered butterfly sticker to top right of washi tape in upper frame of card. For some added fun I stamped in black ink the "this is me" in the bottom of the frame. For some "shine" I added a few sequins. Simple and quick! :)

Now, this is important to remember, when you punch your instragram pages from the kit do not slide them all of the way in so your holes on your pages will line up with the holes on your cover. Then using washi tape of choice from the Daily Stories collection, wrap a strip down the center of the openings.

I printed all of my daughters photos 3"x3" then matted them onto white cardstock that I cut 3 1/2" x 3 1/2".  I rounded all of the corners of the photos and the white cardstock. Then adhere over your open space and add a second photo to the back. You will have a 1/4" of OPEN SPACE around your photo, This is what makes this so neat to look at!!

The back of the Ombre circles papers and months. So cut them into strips to create page "tabs", to make the wide tab cut just above the months of one line, skip a row (the row that you will use for your tabs) then just below the next row. Then cut between every other month so you have January & February together and so on. Then fold, corner round (only if you want, it's kinda tricky to corner round them because they are small...treat yourself to a piece of chocolate at this point) then adhere them to your pages.

I started putting the tabs on the ends and working my way in so they were all evenly spaced.

Once you are done with your tabs cut 12 strips 4" x 1" from a sheet of paper from the collection. I used the "floral" paper. I corner rounded one side to match the edges then adhered them to the wide space. Add your rings and tie your ribbon to the top ring and trim excess away and you are done!

This was such an easy project using just the banner kit and two sheets of paper but you could use just the one sheet of "ombre circles" paper to complete it! I made it while watching a movie, super quick and easy!

I hope you are inspired to re-create on of your own!

Xyron and Teresa Collins Designs - Day 4

Xyron and Teresa Collins Designs - Day 4

Are you ready for Day 4
First lets check out this amazing layout from Jamie Harder.

We love Jamie's simplistic style with just enough pow to enjoy the layout.
THANK YOU JAMIE!
To see more of Jamie's work check out her blog at:

Next up we have STACY RODRIGUEZ:

Hello everyone, Stacy here today sharing my creation using Teresa's Tell Your Story line of course with all of the AMAZING embellishments that go with this line and the fabulous Xyron products.

So you should all know that i'm a mini album and altered project girl....these are my two favorite things to create.  For this project I created a fun mini album with a super cool way to use twine to bind your album.  You also may want to head out to hubby's shed or garage and if he has any drywall mesh grab it, run to your studio and hide it cause you are going to want to keep it!!!

Okay so let's start with a photo of the complete cover. For the cover I cut two pieces of chipboard and cut the pattern paper to the same size.  I corner punched the two outside corners of both the chipboard and paper then ran the pattern paper through the Xyron Creatopia which makes this super fast and an easy way to adhere your paper to anything. I used the Xyron 510 or my fabulous Teresa Collins 150 for all of the smaller pieces.

I will also give you a little close up pic for you to see all the detail on the cover.

Now for the fun binding technique...I did not come up with this technique but do have a utube video to share of Marion Smith walking you through this so YES you to can also give this a shot.  You can pause the video anytime to make sure you get it just right and believe me I did my far share of pausing :)  The inside of this album contains 11 pieces of pattern paper 12" x 8" in size and folded in half....so yes that is 22 pages for you to save all of those great memories!  The chipboard cover is 8 1/2" x 6 1/2".

A close up of the binding.

This is what the inside of your pages will look like of course before you do all of your creating.

Here is the link to the utube video for you :)

I'm using this album for photos of everything that my daughter and her friends have done which is why this is My Story 2012.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope that you give this a try.  It would be a fabulous way to document anything!

Xyron and Teresa Collins Designs - Day 2

DAY 2 for the Teresa Collins and Xyron Blog hop.

We would love to see any creations you have created with your Xyron and Teresa Collins products.  Please share your projects on Facebook.com/tcdesigns or post a link to your blog post in the comment section to show us your creation.  Are you ready to be inspired by Yvonne Blair and Stacey Michaud today?

First we have Yvonne Blair:

Hello everyone.  I have a really quick and easy card featuring Tell Your Story using the TC Sticker maker from Xyron!  The cute little paper ruffle was made by just finger pleating one of the border strips and running it through the sticker maker...made it so easy!
Hope you have a great week!  Thanks for letting me share the fun I had with Xryon!
Don't forget about Fan Friday either...wouldn't you like to be featured here!

NEXT UP IS STACEY MICHAUD!!
I love creating 8.5 X 11 layouts for many reasons. One main reason is because it expands your journaling placement options.  Since an 8.5 X 11 piece of paper fits in the printer, your journaling strip can be the same width as your page.

That is where my Xyron came in super handy.  I created this layout below.

I knew I wanted multiple frames in random places. I knew I wanted the picture on the bottom. What I didn't think of was the placement of my journaling.  After surveying my options, I decided to add a strip along the top so it complimented my design, yet didn't distract from it.
I was able to run the thin strip through my Xyron sticker maker and have it lay very flat on my page.

I also used my Xyron to adhere the die-cut tickets and the small hand-cut elements all around the page.  It really makes scrapbooking easy when you can create your own stickers!

Every day this week we'll feature a project from one or two of our DT members using Xyron products along side Teresa Collins Products - I know you are just going to love the results!

First we wanted to share some inspiration from Rachel McAffee:

Tell Your Story Gift Bags!

Next we have a wonderful tutorial by Cheri Piles:

I am so excited to be able to participate in the Xyron Blog hop this week! I just LOVE my sticker maker, it is one of my favorite "GO TO" tools!

I made this great little pumpkin home decor piece for one of my shelves in my home office. I love to change things up with the seasons. I started with a 4x5 piece of canvas and painted it a Pearl White (I just love a little shine!) Then I added 3 3/4 x 4 3/4 piece of Pennants paper (back) and outlined it with Black ink.

I used the large oval frame from the Tell Your Story Stamp set to make the pumpkin, I stamped the frame onto the following papers: Damask (back), Frames (back) & Cards (back). Then I tore them all at the same time so my pieces would line up when I put them back together. I tried to tear them with a rounded shape to create a Pumpkin "feel". For the stem and the leaf I cut two of the shapes from the Pennant paper and trimmed the leaf until it had the shape I wanted. I then ran them through the sticker maker!

I really wanted to create more "texture" to the pumpkin so I added some crackle glaze and it created some bubbles and a little crackle in spots, just the look I was after! I used last months free download for the stamp maker and made the Autumn Splendor stamp for the bottom. I added the blue scalloped chipboard piece to the right and trimmed to size. Then I added the orange dots scallop borders to the top and left sides.

I hope you enjoy the blog hop this week and please come back to check out what the team has in store for you!
