Something Wonderful, how to make this mini album tutorial by Cheri Piles

Hey everyone, How about a free little mini album class today on how to create this book??? Yeah, I thought you might like it!

Here are the supplies you will need for this book:
Papers: Alpha, The Story, Geometric, Black wood, Black stripes, Alpha Print,  Floral, Cards.
Embellishments: Chipboard, photo overlays, wood, brads, decorative tape.

To prep for your book, pull your wood pieces out and paint them and set aside to dry. I used the numbers, heart, wonderful  & Love deeply: painted red. Story time I painted black.

This diagram shows you how to cut and fold your papers to create all of your base pages. You can right click on it, save picture as and print it out. Cut all of your pages as shown, corner round outside right corners. Then put them in page order - Cover: The Story, pg 2 - Alpha's side down, pg 3 - Alpha print, pg 4 - Floral, pg 5 - Black stripes down, pg 6 wood grain down, pg 7 geometric and back cover. All of your pages you will fold on left side 1/2" and adhere them together creating your spine, page 2 and 7 you will center on your page (one inch from top and bottom).

On the cover I added my wood numbers 3/4" from bottom using the clear adhesive from the Teresa Collins adhesive kit from Xyron. Chipboard: Something Wonderful, snapshots. I added the "YOU" brad using a foam square from the Teresa Collins Adhesive kit from Xyron. I added a little bling and flower from my stash.

Create a grouping using brads and a chipboard tag on the inside cover. Cut the "Live laugh love" quote from the cards paper, corner round all corners and add to the front of the flap on page two.

Add your photo to the inside of the flap. Add a small brad to the center of the photo overlay flower and adhere your overlay to your photo using the clear adhesive from the TC adhesive kit from Xyron. (I used the clear adhesive on all of my overlays - I love it!!!) Cut the "&" from your cards and corner round all the corners, Add "I love this" from your chipboard in upper right corner, add brad just under then adhere entire card to your inside flap.
Add the heart brad to center of chipboard banner and add to upper left of back of page two. Add the black and white chipboard scalloped border to your flap. Adhere your photo to your page, add the Wonderful You photo overlay over your photo. Add some tape to the left of your page. Add the bingo chipboard banner between your fold and the tape even with the top of the alpha page.
Add a photo center on your left page. Add tape above and below your photo. Add "wonderful" chipboard word to center left of tape above photo. On the front right of flap cut the center borders from the cards paper 4"l x 5"w and adhere to center of flap. Add tape to top and bottom of borders. Add "happy" brad to center of "reel" chipboard. Adhere to page with right side overlapping (use powder to "unstick" the part that is overhanging the edge.)

Punch a half circle out of center of wood grain paper and adhere to floral paper creating a pocket. Add the wood heart and "wonderful" wood word to front of pocket. Tags: Words paper - creat tag, cut "notes" card out from cards paper and adhere to upper left of tag, add chipboard camera tag to tag hole, add "map" brad to center of tag hole. Striped tag: Add "today" card from cards paper to upper left of tag. Add doted chipboard tag to center of tag hole and add the camera brad to center of tag.  Add photo to inside right of flap, add tape to left of photo.

Add brads to chipboard ticket holes and add to upper left of left page. Add photo under the chipboard ticket. Add "documented" chipboard word to upper left of photo. Corner round right side of  yellow chevron chipboard and add to front flap of right page. Add photo under first row of squares, add photo overlay "love deeply, laugh out lot, live passionately" to your photo.

Add photo to center of left page. Add "this is something wonderful" chipboard to upper left of photo. Add small black brad to center of floral chipboard and adhere, overlapping word strip using foam squares. Cut 5" x 4" from center border strips and adhere to center front of flap on right side with hearts side up. Add 4" x 3 1/2" photo to right of hearts paper. Trim "Be happy" photo overlay to size and adhere over photo. Add "right now" chipboard to upper right of flap. Add "wonderful" chipboard under left of photo. Over lap "&" chipboard circle using foam squares over bottom left creating a grouping.

Punch a half circle in center of floral paper to create a pocket. Add "Memory, tag" brad to upper right of pocket. Add "Love" chipboard overlapping tag and then adhere floral paper creating a pocket to your striped page. Adhere "story time" wood to upper left of page. TAGS: Geometric paper add today card to upper left of tag, add layered circles brad to center of tag hole. Dotted paper add "the story" card to upper left of tag, add striped chipboard to center of tag hole, add yellow brad to center of tag. Add photo to inside right flap, add tape to left of photo.

Add photo even with the next page - I love this look how it makes the page look even longer with the flap from the next page!! Add "this photo" chipboard to upper left of page.

Add brad to center of card "Wake up... " corner round corners and adhere to front flap. Adhere "NO.1" chipboard banner even with top of this page to the back page.

Corner round paint chip card, add black and white brad to lower right of card and adhere card to inside flap. Adhere "love deeply" wood piece to top of card.  Adhere photo to page. Trim and adhere geometric photo overlay to fit over photo.

I hope you enjoyed the book and are inspired to create one of your very own. I love creating fun little mini books like this using this binding technique. You don't need rings or coils and it just adds a little something different to your collection.

Have a great week!! ~Cheri

Teresa Collins eBosser 'In Time for the Holidays' Blog Hop! More for the Holiday Hop by Yvonne Blair

Hey everyone...Yvonne back to give you an overview and instructions for my hanging card pocket.

The first thing I did was embossed a piece of craft colored cardstock using the Stardust pattern embossing folder. I sent it through the TC eBosser using the A-C-D sandwich.
I love that I could walk away while the machine did all the work!
I did this while cooking supper, wink.
I tried to get a closeup so you could see just how deep and crisp the embossing really is.
It is phenomenal! One of the many things I love about the eBosser is that you can emboss vellum to chipboard.  The machine will not cut through the vellum but it will emboss the chipboard so deeply!!!
You will simply be amazed...oops off topic, hehehe.
I then cut my piece of cardstock to about 6" wide.
(don't you just love this pattern???)
I then pulled out my Santa's List Collection and went to town creating.
I cut 1/4 inch off of two sides of the chevron paper.  I adhered that to a piece of red cardstock.
I also adhered the embossed cardstock to the same red cardstock so that it would pop a little.
I did staple each side and corner with my stapler.  It will help it hold up when you start stuffing
cards into it, wink.

Then it's just a matter of embellishing the way you like it!
I hope you have enjoyed this weeks blog hop...there has been lots of inspiration and fun.
Don't forget to leave a comment on each blog that has participated so that you will be entered to win a TCeBosser just in time for the holidays!!!

*You can enter the giveaway everyday by commenting on at least one of the participating blogs, and selecting the 'left a comment' tab on Rafflecopter. Limit is 1 comment per person, per day. All entries left on all blogs, will go to into the same 'hat'.
In the mean time...hop on over to the next on the list!

You and Me Mini Album by Yvonne Blair featuring Stationary Noted

Hi everyone! Yvonne here today with Mini Album.  I did this mini for my daughter, it is featuring her and her boyfriend.  They have been together for 3 1/2 years and wanted a little photo shoot.  They asked me to take some pics of them, and of course that meant I had to do a little mini, hehehe.

Below is a close up of the binding. Hope that might help with the instructions.
 You and Me mini album

2-6 x 8 chipboard
Stationary Noted Papers:
1-8  x 12 Poppies side a
Wrap around chipboard and adhere, wait to adhere the inside of the front cover until we have the spine ready  to adhere.
1- 8 x 11 ¾ ledger side b, fold in half.
2-5 x 8 Polaroid side b, wait to adhere together.
1- 4 x 8 Damask. Score at 1” and 3”
1-8 x 11 ¾ Damask side b, fold in half.
1-8 x 11 ¾ Flowers side a, fold in half.
1-5 ¾ Damask side b
Adhere to the inside of the back cover chipboard.
1-6 x 8 Polaroid side b
Wait to adhere until we have the spine ready to adhere.

Cut a piece of black cardstock to 8x 8
Score at 2 ¾, 3, 3 ¼, 3 ½, 3 ¾, 4, 4 ¼, 4 ½, 4 ¾, 5, 5 ¼, 5 ½.
Fold on all the score lines.  You will want to create an accordion type fold throughout.  Once you have the accordion fold, you will want to adhere the accordion folds together skipping the center ¼ inch of each one. Then adhere the open parts of the folded pages to the cardstock.  The exception will be page two. For this page adhere one piece of the 5 x 8 Polaroid to the front accordion fold adhere the 1” piece of the scored damask paper to the right inside edge.  Now adhere the other 5 x 8 piece of Polaroid.  Fold the edge of Damask over the back side and adhere along the top and bottom to create a pocket.

Adhere the accordion fold cardstock to the inside of the front cover on the right side. Then adhere the folded cover paper to the chipboard.  This will create a seamless cover to page effect.
Adhere the back part of the accordion fold to the left side of the inside of the back cover.  Now adhere the 6 x 8 Polaroid side b to the inside of the back cover.
Apply Decorative tape to the edges of the spine and the back right edge of the book’s back cover.

Embellish as seen in pictures.

Supplies needed:
Stationary Noted Papers-Poppies, Polaroid, Flowers, Damask, Ledger.
Stationary Noted Chipboard embellishments, Decorative Tape, Decorative Brads,
     Stickers, chipboard buttons, enamel dots.
Other-Teresa Collins Mega Runner from Xyron, Black cardstock from Bazzill, Doilies from Wilton, Seam Binding ribbon, Scoring tool.

Calendar mini album tutorial by Cheri Piles using Memories collection by Teresa Collins Designs

I am a big fan of this collection MEMORIES! This is my third mini album I have created using it. This time I created a calendar mini album using mainly the 6x6 paper pad. I have listed all of the supplies and directions for you to recreate this same little book.
To start: This part is optional but I LOVE paint and I paint almost all of my edges of my books unless I know I'll be teaching it for a class. So, it's up to you but I like the finished look it gives so I painted all my edges of my book and pages in bright white paint.

Then cut out all of the months from the calendar paper and adhere them onto chipboard then set aside - **TIP** easiest way is to lay and adhere the calendar sheet onto a 12x12 chipboard then cut them all at once. Then corner round each corner of each month.

For your cover: Cut two sheets of your doily paper 4 3/8"h x 4 1/2"w and adhere to front and back from your edges. Cut one sheet of your subway calendar paper for your spine 4 3/8"h x 4 1/2"w and adhere to your spine. **TIP** - I don't put adhesive on my spine just on the part that wraps around on the front and back so when it opens and closes it won't rip the spine. :)

Inside Cover Pages (not shown) cut two sheets of the yellow dots paper 4 3/8"h x 4 3/4"w and adhere.

All of your inside pages: cut them 4" x 4"
adhere the front side first, flip it over, punch your holes, adhere the back side, punch your holes then corner round each out side edge.
Papers are all from your 6 x 6 paper pad: Jan - blue flowers, Feb - yellow dots, March - Red Hexagons, April - blue diagonal stripe, May - blue dots, June & July - Ledger, August - blue dots, Sept - Blue diagonal stripe, Oct - red hexagons, Nov - yellow dots, Dec - blue flowers.

Months - READ this whole sentence before you start gluing or you will be sad sad sad when it's over. The front of each page (every other month) is a pocket page. Each calendar page will hang over the edge - do not put glue or tape where it will hang over. So, adhere each month Jan, March, May, July, September, and November as a pocket to the right of the holes you don't want to cover them up. If you look closely at my pages I staggered them. Then flip them over and adhere the other months accordingly and lining them up to the back of the front calendar. Now, set your book aside for a minute.

Lets create your pull out tags, I used the 12 x 12 ledger paper and if you scroll down you can see I used both sides, I mainly used the white side but it's up to you. You are going to cut 6 strips - 8"w x 2 1/4"h (the last strip will be cut sideways on your paper), then fold them in half, adhere them together, the fold side will go in your pocket so you don't need to corner round that side, just the outside edge. Then use your chipboard elements with the months and adhere them to the edge of each tag creating "tabs". You can put them in your book. ;)

So for the rest of your book you can decorate it up as I did or embellish how ever you like. When I wrote my dates in the calendar I started at the top left so this can be used over and over again just for birthdays, anniversaries not a yearly calendar that is only used once, but used for many years to come!

Supplies:
Maya Road 4x4 album you will only need 6 of the pages.
Teresa Collins Designs Memories Collection:
12 x 12 papers: Words (side b- Yellow dots), Calendar, Ledger
6 x 6 paper pad comes with two sheets of each and you will use both sheets in this project: Doily, subway calendar, blue flowers, yellow dots, red hexagons, blue diagonal stripe, blue dots, ledger.
Embellishements: Stickers, Chipboard elements, buttons, enamel dots, die cut borders, washi tape, stitched garland, die cut sheet.
Other: 1/8" red line tape for pockets, other adhesives for pages and embellishments, corner chomper, 1/4" hole punch, thin chipboard for calendar pages, white acrylic paint.

I hope you are inspired to create one of your own and I hope you enjoyed the project!!
