Days of our Lives.... with Julie Jacob

So...way back in the day when I was in college, Days of our Lives was THE soap to watch.
It would be on the big tv in the student center, and there would always be lots of kids tuned in to see the latest.

Was that tramp, Sami trying to steal her sister's boyfriend again?
Will Roman and Marlena finally be together forever?
(Speaking of Marlena...I'm hoping she's over being possessed by the devil.)
Hey look, Jack's back from the dead. Again.
And again.
And again.

I'm working on a mini book with the Everyday Moments line.
Here's the cover:
I used the binder from Teresa's World Traveler Album kit.
I REALLY wanted to find some sort of hour glass charm...but I'm not having much luck with that. Remember MacDonald Carey's voice?..."Like sands through the hour glass...so are the days of our lives...."  Cue soapy music.
I covered it with Everyday Moments paper (Quick Grip works really well for that)...and then added doo-dads that sort of sum up my life right now.
J...for my last name. 6....because there's 6 of us (not including 2 cats). Starbucks because they know me there.
And the title Days of our Lives.
First I wrinkled up some old sewing pattern tissue and mod-podged it on. I covered the chipboard J with dictionary paper, and added it onto the Starbucks cup wrapper thingy. I don't know the technical term. I don't speak coffee. I love Starbucks...but September through March I order peppermint hot chocolate...and April through August it's green tea lemonade.

The flower is made from a coffee filter. :)
This book will be my version of 'A Week in the Life'...I want to fill it with pictures and pages of every day life. I just haven't picked the week yet. :P
I will share pages after I figure out the days of my life. snort.

Have a great Friday!

  2. Love the Everyday Moments line, your comments about Days, the fact that you don't drink coffee and the fact that you made your flower out of a coffee filter! TFS!!!!

  3. Too Funny!! And it was on the other day...(not on purpose, but by happenstance) and DOOL is still the same!! What you just described was what I remember and what I saw just the other day!! In 15 years you would like it would have changed! Love this project!!
