Teresa Collins Design Team - Getting to know Cheri Piles

Cheri Piles
We asked Cheri a few questions and this is what she had to say:

What is your scrapbooking style?   It depends on what I'm working with, I can be clean and simplistic to very embellished. I tend to lean towards more of a vintage style, I enjoy playing with inks and paints.
How did you start scrapbooking?   A friend of mine introduced it to me right after my daughter was born, 17 years ago.
What influences your designs?  I think it comes down to the pictures and then the paper I'm creating with. I read a lot of blogs about repurposed items, flea market finds, antique items - somehow I'm inspired by those types of things.
How long do you spend working on a layout?   HA! It could take me all day if I let it! There are times when everything comes together in an hour or even two. I like the process of creating so if I'm not working on a deadline I take my time, I don't like to race. I want to keep it and enjoy it for years to come so I'm good with my slow as a snail speed.
What does your work area look like when you are working on a project?  It's an organized mess actually. My tools, pens and such always end up to the right. My embellishments and papers are at the top side of the table and my inks, paints, stamps and scraps on the left.
What is your favorite color combination? I don't think I have a favorite, I'm drawn to different things at different times. I really like most colors, it would be easier to say I'm not a big fan of the color yellow.
Do you have any other hobbies? I like to quilt and play with fabric. I enjoy a good book. I like to play with pretty jewels and make jewelery.

Cheri is going to be teaching her new sports mini album at one of her local scrapbook stores (The Scrappy Stamper in Chehalis, WA) this May. She is teasing us with a few sneak peaks of her new class!

Thank you Cheri for showing us sneak peaks of your album. If you would like to learn more about Cheri you can find her... HERE.  Thanks Cheri for letting us get to know you better.
