Daily Stories Cards - Melissa Phillips

Hi there!  I'm so happy to be blogging for Teresa Collins today.  It's my first time here and I've created a couple of special cards for the occasion.  Both cards use beautiful papers, stamps, embellishments, and decorative tape from the Daily Stories collection along with Basically Essential Stencils and Modeling Paste.

This was my first time using Modeling Paste and stencils and I loved this technique so much, I can't wait to try again.  You'll notice on my die cut heart in the center of this card, a beautiful flourish stenciled with paste beneath the dimensional butterfly sticker.  I just love the soft and subtle effect stenciling adds.  Since I'm a card maker, I love the 6x6 Daily Stories paper pad because of it's ease and convenience, not to mention that the patterns are on a smaller scale, also perfect for card making.  Across the top of my card and beneath the beautiful floral paper, I added a Daily Stories border sticker and a strip of decorative tape from the fun, Daily Stories collection.

I finished my card with a sweet sentiment from the Daily Stories stamp set and then a few sequins scattered here and there across the card.
My second card uses the lovely Basically Essential tree stencil and more Modeling Paste.  I applied this to Kraft cardstock and then added just a bit of stamping from the Basically Essential stamp set using Kraft ink, so as to get a very subtle look which wouldn't detract from the stenciling.
I layered a strip of Daily Stories paper to the left portion of my card as well as a border sticker.  I adhered a Daily Stories die cut with a strip of Decorative Tape to work as my sentiment and then added a bit of machine stitching to secure everything in place.

Lastly, I layered a Daily Stories Wood Piece butterfly over an enamel butterfly, from the Daily Stories Enamel Dots & Shapes collection.  I love the pop of color behind the wood piece.  To finish, I added a small pink Daily Stories gem.
This is such a sweet collection to work with.  It's versatile enough to cover many different occasions from everyday to meaningful milestones.
Thanks so much for stopping in today.
