Santa's List Cards by Tessa Wise

Hi!  I know Christmas is still a ways away but I had so much fun making these cards with the new Santa's List line, I couldn't wait to share them!  Santa's List is such a perfect line for Christmas!  I love creating special handmade cards for the holidays and everything came together so well!

My first card is a bright and cheery one featuring the small glassine bag and the decorative tapes.  I used the glassine envelope to hold a gift card:

I started with a white card base and criss crossed my decorative tapes to create a colorful background.  I added a strip of the red glitter scalloped border to the center and splattered some pearlescent mist over it.  I put the gift card into the small glassine bag and wrapped it with baker's twine to close it.  I adhered it to my card front and decorated it with the chipboard santa and lots of fun sequins!  They are so pretty!

Next I brought out my stamps!  I stamped the circular sentiment onto some snowflake patterned paper and punched it out with a circle punch.  I added the decorative brad to the center of the sentiment and added it to the card front using a dimensional foam dot.

My next card has a rustic feel.  I wanted to show off the great snowflake from the chipboard pieces and the some of the fun patterned papers:

I started with a kraft card base.  I added strips of patterned papers to the bottom portion of card, leaving the lengths slightly different.  I added the red glitter scalloped border to the top of the card, covering the seam of the patterned papers.  I wrapped the border strip with linen thread and hid the tie under where I add the snowflake.  I added the snowflake next, then added the circular sentiment pieces.  To create this, I  stamped my sentiment on to the snowflake patterned paper and punched it out with a smaller circle punch.  Then I punched a red polka-dot circle slightly larger.  I layered the circles onto the snowflake using dimensional foam adhesive.  I added a green button with a linen thread bow tied through it to the middle of the sentiment to finish it off.

My next card is a flat panel photo card perfect for sending in the mail:

The photo is 4x6.  The panel on the right is left blank but would look lovely with a 'with love, the Wise family' written on it.

I started with a red card base for this one.  It is cut to 4x8.5.  I adhered the journal card to the right hand side and then added my photo to the right using the pretty polka-dot photo corners to hold it in place.  I added the tab sticker, the decorative chipboard button with twine and a couple of green epoxy dots to finish the look.

My last card is another photo card- it's also my favorite from the bunch!  It features the small folded filing folder:

I created a card base using red cardstock.  I covered the bottom portion with the red polka-dot paper and the top with the red and white chevron paper.  I added a piece of the red glittered scallop border to the seam.  Next, I trimed the pockets out of the smalle folded file folder.  I adhered a 3x4 family photo to the center and decorated the front with some stamped snowflakes, a few diecut banners, and the santa sticker.  I wrapped it with the red seam binding and adhered it to the card front.

I left the right side of this blank but when I send it out, I'll write my favorite things that happened to us during the year.

I love how Santa's List looks on cards!  I had so much fun working with this line and can't wait for Christmas to give these special cards away!

  1. I love ALL these ideas, and your cards are adorable! I'm especially inspired by the photo card; I send out photo cards each year (100 of them) for Christmas. I never thought about making my OWN photo cards, tho... sheesh, I don't know why! "Good golly" ;) , I think I'm going to do this this year! Thanks!
