So Lucky - Mix it up by: Sesil Cratin

Sesil here to start off the week.  This week's theme will be "SO LUCKY"

Here is my take on being 'lucky'.  I wanted to challenge myself to use a mix of old and new.  So that is what I did.  I grabbed some green pattern papers from the Teresa Collins Spring Fling Collection and mixed it up with the He Said Collection.  Another challenge I did was to make a simple layout in less than 30 minutes.  I wanted to show how easy it is to scrapbook in a short amount of time.

As you see I didn't have time to sew on my page so I simply just took a black pen and drew my lines on the perimeter of the papers. I also outlined my title to give it the consistency and to make the title pop off the page.  I love using my electronic die cutter for my titles. It insures that the title will match my layout.

When I adhered all my elements to the page I used foam squares through out my page. I wanted it to make the layout feel like it had a bit of movement and dimension and not so FLAT. Using foam squares gives it just the right look.

Another thing I used in the layout were sequins. I don't like using sprays because it stains my hands.  But I love the look so I created the same look with the sequins.  It gives it just enough interest and a little sparkle.

Who says you can not mix up collections? The beautiful thing about Teresa Collins Designs papers is the collections can interchange with other collections and still have a cohesive look and feel to the whole layout.  Give it a try. I challenge you to use different papers from different collections and post them to our Facebook page or post a link  in the comment section of this post.  You never know. We may feature your work in one our or posts.

Thanks for stopping by.  Make sure to check the blog everyday for more inspiring creations. Till next time. Happy Crafting.

  6. I love that you used a pen instead of sewing. I never want to sew but do like the look of it also and this is a great substitute.

  8. I know what you mean when getting ink on your fingers. When I know I have a lot to ink, I wear those disposable surgical gloves. When you are done, they just go in the trash. Genius idea of using sequence as drops.
