Moments with you - Everyday Moments Layout by Amanda Jones

Not only is it easy to get caught up in scrapping the big events but it's also easy to focus only on those photos which are well composed, interesting and feature your favourite people. This picture is just a snapshot of a random boat in the harbour of a town we visited with my grandmother a few years ago. I have skipped over this image so many times when pulling out pics for my pages.

On the day I made this layout, this picture had fallen onto the table and that gave me the opportunity to really LOOK at it, out of context. Despite the unexciting subject matter, I instantly knew when and where I'd taken the picture. Within a few seconds, I was remembering the full details of the day we'd had and, in fact, the whole week-long trip we'd taken with my Nan. We've been on a couple of these trips and I'm so thankful to have had that time with just us and her - she's well into her eighties now.

So, my boring boat picture actually became something rather sentimental. I love that the Everyday Moments line caters to any subject. It worked so perfectly for my meaningful page.

I love the collage style images on the background, so highlighted them with some extra stamped words, paper strips and die-cuts.

Now I've set aside time in my schedule to really look through my pictures. I hope to scrap more of the pictures that don't carry such an obvious message.

Enjoy the rest of your week, thanks for stopping by!

  1. Excellent job of showing us how to make an everyday picture turn into an occasion!

  2. Very nice to feature one photo that triggers a memory. Did you tuck more details about the memory behind the photo?
Sometimes I only adhere my photos on three sides and insert a card behind the photo then i can add more details, then or later, and not disturb my layout.

  3. I usually write extra journaling on the reverse of my pages, Candi :)
