Sesil here excited that I was able to work on TAGS again. My tags are created with the Far and Away Collection. As you know I am drawn to the reds in this collection. I wanted to feature the stitched garland on my tags because it felt like it helped create movement on the project.
The flowers are another one of my favorites. There is no right or wrong on how many you can stack together create a fun and great looking flower.
I wanted to use different sized tags to play around with this collection. I also decorated a kraft sack to hold the smaller tag. I love creating with the layers and washi tape. Want to know a secret? I use the border strips as individual accents. I just cut a little off and I have a perfect element for a card or a tag.
Notice the ticket on the tag is from the border strips and the circle hot air balloon element on the bag is also from the border strips. I love using the embellishments in different ways than they are intended.
For some reason I had a hard time working with the larger tag. But in the end, I think I was able to pull it off. I wanted the stitched garland to be one of the focal element along the stacked flower. I had to give some white space between the two elements to make it work. I think that is where my issue was with the tag.
I created a video of the process on making the tags and bag. It took me 45 minutes to complete the tags. I had a little bit of distractions while creating. The kids were outside playing while I was creating the video. If you watch the video real close you will see a 'little' hand poke in the frame for a split second.
Let me know if you have any questions. I would love to hear what you think about the tags I created. I challenge you to create using the stitched garland and flowers in your next project. I would love to see what you create. Post your project on your personal blog and link the post in the comment section for me to see. You never know. I might ask you to be a guest designer on the Teresa Collins DT blog.
Till next time. Happy Crafting.
