I realize it is spring. The weather has shifted and we have busted out our sundresses and tshirts. But, I still have a slew of winter photos to scrap. Shall I save them for another day?
Nope, I will scrap them regardless of the season. I will go even further out of the box by using a non-traditional winter line for a snow themed project.
Fabrications with it's vibrant jewel tones meets white snow? It works, especially when the subject of your layout is wearing a hat sporting the exact same hues.
To create this layout, I grabbed a sheet of white grid paper from the Sports Edition II collection. It makes a great base. I wanted to mimic the stripes of my daughter's hat so I began layering different patterns of Fabrications "Canvas" papers. Don't worry about the strips all being the same width or length. I added in the chipboard phrase to create some dimension. Brads filled in the space and gave it some detailing.
To ground this middle cluster, I added the bright purple border on the side and the scalloped edge along the top. It is a die-cut from the collection. I added different sized circles to add some curve to the layout. Then the fun part...the snow! I used the new bling that accompanies each of the new collections. The pearls come in three sizes! I just randomly placed them along the top, creating snow!
The idea wasn't in my original plan, but evolved as I started working and dreaming.
Fabrications works for so many different themes, seasons and projects!
