Love by Dedra Long

For this layout I wanted to work with the Spring Fling Collection. As I was working with all of the gorgeous papers, I realized my palette looked like traditional Valentine colors. Realizing that love means different things at different times, this layout is now one of my favorites.
Our oldest daughter turns 16 in a couple of months and it has been more difficult than I thought to let go a little bit. The fact is our girls are the loves of our life. So, even though Valentine's Day is over and this layout is not about my husband and I, that's ok.

I used one full 12" x 12" sheet of paper as my foundation, used a corner rounder on the edges for a softer look. Added some red splatter inside and in the splatter I added some rhinestones. Then I cut three coordinating pieces of patterned paper so I could layer one on top of the other.

I found a journaling card from the Documented Collection and layered that next to the photo. I took a die cut circle at cut it in half and put that on the other side of the photo for balance. Last I added a felt flower. Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Super cute Dedra. I love the bling in the spots of red.

  2. The layout is wonderful and your "eye" for laying out the photo gave your daughter a 3 dimensional look - at first I thought you had cut the photo so she was "reaching" out of the photo for the flower!! Very nice!
