Hello there! Today I have a couple of quick and easy cards to share with you! I love to mix up different collections so for these cards I used a mix of Summer Stories and Stationery Notes.
I just adore the bicycle journaling card that I cut from the Stationery Noted Journaling Cards Paper. It is so cute! I added a heart I cut out, a chipboard button and love diecut from the Summer Stories collection.
My inspiration for this card came from the cute "Hello" which is from Stationery Noted Polaroid Paper. I then added a few embellishments from Summer Stories and my card was complete.
I love to make quick and easy cards and even more, I love sending them and making someone smile!
Hello! I have had so much fun making cards lately! This set, using the beautiful Summer Stories line came together quickly and I can't wait to send them out to my loved ones! Take a look:
I started this one by decorating the simple journal card with a banner at the top. I added some patterned paper, decorative tape, and border. Then I added the sentiment with stickers and embellished with some pretty pink epoxy dots and twine.
I matted it in black and added it to my chevron patterned card base. Those pink dots look like candy, don't they? Here is my next one:
I used another journaling card as my focal point- maybe that's why these cards were so quick! :) I stamped the camera in pink and then splattered some gold mist over it. When it was dry, I added the chipboard and die-cut banners with a pretty brad to the top. I added the sentiment and twine to finish it off. Last, I matted it on my card base.
I've gotten so much use out of these letter stickers! Such a basic staple- I think I could use them on everything! My next card also has some stamping on it:
I created my cardbase and covered the front with the pretty woodgrain patterned paper. I added a tag to the bottom and layered some of the Summer Stories stickers on the left. I added the decorative brads next and then the chipboard ticket. I stamped the flower with gold ink and let it dry. When it was done, I added my sentiment, a twine bow, and a little splatter of gold mist.
I love the clustered look I ended up with! Here is my last card:
For this one, I started with my cardbase covered in the collage patterned paper. I added the banners and tag to the top. Next, I added my sentiment to the ticket and punched holes in both sides. I attached it to the card and tied the twine around it, ending in a bow.
I'm so happy with how these cards turned out! The glitter and gold adds a little drama while the color scheme feels light and airy. It is perfect for this time of year! :)

Today I want to share some cards I created using one of my favorite products, Decorative Tapes! I love them! For these cards, I mixed and matched the tapes from all the winter and spring lines- they work so well together! Here is my first card:
I created a layered look with the tapes on this one. I layered one piece horizontal then one vertical, ect. until I filled the background up with washi. Layering them like this gives it sort of a woven look. I stamped a sentiment on a circle punched out of one of the fun patterns from the Stationery Noted line. I added a couple decorative brads from the He Said She Said line along with a bit of linen thread tied in a bow to finish off the look.
This technique looks great as a scrapbook layout background, too!
For my next card, I pinched bits of the washi as I layed it down to create a tabby textured background:
I varied the placement of my tabs as I worked but kept them all the same size. To finish this one off, I punched another circle out of the same patterned paper and added a bit of the red tape. I added the chipboard sentiment next and then a couple of brads, all from the He Said She Said line. I wrapped the card with a bit of linen thread and added the circle on top of it.
Don't you love that saying? I couldn't help but us it!
For my last card, I used the mosaic technique, cutting off bits of the tape with my scissors. The scissors give it a straight edge that resembles tiles:
I stamped my sentiment on the patterned paper from the Stationery Noted line and then embellished it with a die cut banner, a chipboard banner, and a few black epoxy dots. I finished off this look with my linen thread tied in a bow over the banners.
Don't you love how all the tapes look together? The collections all work so well with each other!
Since these cards are all about the techniques, I thought I'd make a quick video for you visual learners! :) Bear with me though- I'm a beginner videographer...
I hope I've inspired you to reach for your decorative tapes the next time you want to try a fun background technique!

Ok, I admit it.... I have an addiction to making clocks!! I'm going to have to start giving them away soon!! For this one I used the Assemblage Clock from Tim Holtz idea-ology. It is just a raw clock casing - You need to add your own clock mechanism. I added mine by drilling a hole in the back of the casing and the back comes off and on like a lid on a pan. Which is how I was able to "FILL" it up. :)
I loved the "Our Story" banner die cut and I was determined to use it in a fun project where I would get to see it often. I cut a strip and layered it on the (flowers side b) black tiles paper strip. Then adhered them to the outside of the clock.
I used the numbers from the back side of the bingo paper (yellow dots with black numbers paper - using the 6x6 paper pad). I luckily had a little circle punch that was the perfect size for the mini numbers and adhered them using pop dots. Depending on the length of your clock mechanism is how much depth you can add to your clock. My mechanism was about halfway between the glass and the base.
I layered a couple of die cuts to hide the clock opening and part of the stem. I think it also gives the clock a little more eye candy! Then I just added some flowers from my stash, a few buttons from the collection and some enamel dots. I love this clock so super fun!!
Good morning everyone, Stacy here with you on this fabulous Friday! I going to share a tag with you that I created using Summer Stories. I LOVE to make tags because you can use them on so many things. They are perfect to tie on any gift bag, add to a layout, slip them in a mini album with some journaling or photos on them.....the possibilities are endless! If you think about it, it is kind of like making your own embellishment!
Here is what my finished tag looks like.
So to start this tag I took a Ranger manila tag #8 and simply cut the pattern paper to the size of the tag. I placed the paper on the tag with my pink Teresa Collins Xyron Mega Runner. I took a different pattern paper from the collection and cut it a little smaller then placed that in the center of the tag. That is pretty much the base of the tag, and now it's just time for the fun part and make it your own by embellishing it.
So on the photo above you see the bottom of the tag. I used the super fun camera decorative tape and wrapped it around the sides and then embellished above the tape with some enamel dots, buttons and chipboard stickers. Toward the top of that photo you see that I cut a small boarder piece and placed that across what is the center of the tag. I love the little bingo cards from the pattern paper and placed that there. I added one of the brads and some flowers also.
At the top of the tag I placed a chipboard banner piece and some enamel dots. Punched a hole in the top and tied some pretty May Arts ribbon through the top.
This is a fun way to use up your scrap pieces of paper while creating your own one embellishment for any project.
Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful day!
I'm so grateful that our girls have a great relationship with all of their grandparents. That each set of them bring different traditions, experiences, life lessons, stories and everything in between to the girls. It really is wonderful that they love each of them dearly. Like my mom and Jon's mom always say "it takes a village."
I love that the journaling card sheet is so coordinated. You can really just cut them apart of layer them every which way and they always end up looking amazing no matter the combination.
Add a little bling, brads, chipboard stickers, stamps and you can't go wrong!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi there everyone! Summer has finally found us here in the UK so I was inspired to create this little decor project with the Summer Stories collection and an inexpensive wooden clipboard.
As my clipboard was intended to be a bingo clipboard it had stuff printed all over the front, so to start with I gave it a couple coats of white paint. I added a few dabs of ink in colours which would coordinate with the product I was using, to distress it a little and tone down the bright white paint.
I layered journaling cards from the cut-apart paper sheet with the banner and some stickers and adhered them to the board. My photos are just held on by the clip so that I can switch them out for something different as summer goes on.
In addition to papers and embellishments from the Summer stories collection I embellished the board with some flowers and the sewn banner from the He Said She Said line.
