You & Me by Stacey Michaud using Stationery Noted

Typically, I am drawn to layouts with bold pops of color.  But every now and again I like to try a more monochromatic color scheme.  I see it in decor and it continues to be a trend in scrapbooking.  White on white pages can be simple and stunning.  Here is my take on this trend.

The Stationery Noted collection is perfect for white on white.  There is enough blue and red in the collection to add small touches of color while still maintaining that calm and even tone.  I just adore all the typography and elements that are about love.  I knew that I wanted to document my feelings about my husband using this collection. I cut out the I Love You Polariod from a sheet of the paper and placed my photo through the frame.

When creating a page with little color, texture is important. I used the white enamel dots under the hot air balloon to add texture without adding color.

I also think adding movement and softness is important.  Putting stitching onto the layout would have worked.  However, I don't sew.  I was still able to accomplish the look and feel by using the garland across the top of the page.  The soft string gave it the perfect touch.

Finally, I grouped together a cluster in the middle that used elements of all different sizes.  I placed foam squares under some elements to give it all dimension.

The layout is sweet and soft in person.  It perfectly conveys my love for my life!

Mixing collections when creating cards with Jamie Harder

Hello there!  Today I have a couple of quick and easy cards to share with you!  I love to mix up different collections so for these cards I used a mix of Summer Stories and Stationery Notes.

I just adore the bicycle journaling card that I cut from the Stationery Noted Journaling Cards Paper.  It is so cute!  I added a heart I cut out, a chipboard button and love diecut from the Summer Stories collection.

My inspiration for this card came from the cute "Hello" which is from Stationery Noted Polaroid Paper.  I then added a few embellishments from Summer Stories and my card was complete.

I love to make quick and easy cards and even more, I love sending them and making someone smile!

A Festive Fourth with Stacy Rodriguez

Happy Fourth Of July everyone!!!  I am sure that you are all enjoying time with friends and family...watching fireworks, going to parades, eating lots of yummy food and just having some quality time with each other.

In the spirit of this Holiday we thought it was only right to use the Stationery Noted collection since the colors in this line are simply perfect for today. This worked out great for me since I needed to create a card for my mother.  Her birthday was yesterday, and well if she doesn't get a handmade card I never hear the end of it!!  Here is the card that I came up with.

To create this card  the base is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  Cut blue pattern paper in the background was cut to 4" x 5 1/2"  and adhere to the front of your card.  I used a couple of die cuts for the scalloped shapes in the center of the card.  I adhered them together then popped them up in the center of the card.  "You are Special" & "Love" card came from the die cut sheet.  I stapled the saying onto the love card then popped that up in the center of the scallop shape.  I used the fun garland across the card and embellished it with a chipboard button, enamel dot & stick pin from my stash.  The white bow was created using seam binding.

Here are a couple of close up photos for you.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. Remember to grab Stationery Noted to document all of the fun you and your families had this Fourth Of July.

Stationery Noted Cards with Suzanne Sergi

Happy Wednesday!

With Fourth of July arriving tomorrow I was inspired to pull out the Stationery Noted collection. Although the color palette is red, white, and blue, the cards below are fit for any occasion. I kept the design simple, and wanted to achieve clean lines throughout. I used white card stock as the base of each of the cards to keep them crisp, and clean.

On this card, I turned to the Stationery Noted Accessory sheet, and used one of the cards to house my sentiment. I wanted to create a card that could be used for birthday, or to include a congratulatory note. Stars are perfect for celebrating something big, so I used two of them on top of the card. I layered them at different angles on top of the card. Along the bottom you will see I turned to the border strips found in this collection. The design at the top was a rick rack design. I simply cut at the  tips to create my own unique border. I love to see layers on my paper crafts. So, here you will see bits from the accessory die cut sheet, and the 12x12 Polaroid paper. I also pulled a new punch, and punch the small rectangle out of red card stock. A few stitches hold this all in place.

Now, the border strips are also perfect for creating mini banners. Here I used a tiny section, and folded it over to attach to a toothpick. Easy to do, and was perfect for the last detail to the card.

On my second card I used the woodgrain paper found in the 6x6 designer pad. Then I pulled a banner found in the Summer Stories Accessory sheet. I used one of the stamps to add my sentiment inside the red label. Again, I turned to the border strips to create another tiny banner to tuck behind the paper flowers.

To create this fun flower, I used two red polka dot flowers found in the flower assortment pack. I layered these on top of two stars I cut with my Silhouette out of two different patterns of paper. I wanted to create a big, and bold flower held together by a brad found in the Now & Then collection. I wanted one more element on this card, so I used a star charm found in the Every Day Moments collection, just because.

Hope this inspires you create cards using the Stationery Noted collection, but don't forget to pull in fun elements from all of your Teresa Collins  collections. They all work so well together! Happy Fourth of July!

Create Your Own Journaling Pocket by Stacey Michaud

Hello all!  Today, I am going to show you how to make your own journaling pocket that also serves as a decorative element on your layout.  We are working with 12 X 12 today using the Stationery Noted collection.

I love to journal, but finding the just right spot can sometimes be difficult.  I decided to turn one of the File Folders as a pocket.  It just took a little trimming, gluing and fastening!

Here is the completed layout.

The journaling pocket sits to the right side of the photo and gives it a place to rest. I decorated it with the garland banner, die cut and brad!

To make the pocket, grab the folded file.  We are only using half of it.  Cut it down the middle.

Grab the right side with the banner on it.  You will need to glue down the pocket on the left, but leave the right pocket with the flag banner as is!  You don't want to adhere it closed as your journaling insert will need to go inside.  Take the Love This die cut from the sheet!  It will serve as your journaling note.  Write a message.

After you place your photo down and embellish the pocket, you need to secure the open side so the note stays put.  I decided to use a brad to hold down the side.

Add your note to the inside.

I also created a fun cluster at the top of my page!  It is so easy to make clusters when you combine chipboard, diecuts, stickers and brads!

Think outside of the box when working with products...the file folders can be used for so many different projects!

Background Techniques with Decorative Tape by Tessa Wise

Hello!

Today I want to share some cards I created using one of my favorite products, Decorative Tapes!  I love them!  For these cards, I mixed and matched the tapes from all the winter and spring lines- they work so well together!  Here is my first card:

I created a layered look with the tapes on this one.  I layered one piece horizontal then one vertical, ect. until I filled the background up with washi.  Layering them like this gives it sort of a woven look.  I stamped a sentiment on a circle punched out of one of the fun patterns from the Stationery Noted line.  I added a couple decorative brads from the He Said She Said line along with a bit of linen thread tied in a bow to finish off the look.

This technique looks great as a scrapbook layout background, too!

For my next card, I pinched bits of the washi as I layed it down to create a tabby textured background:

I varied the placement of my tabs as I worked but kept them all the same size.  To finish this one off, I punched another circle out of the same patterned paper and added a bit of the red tape.  I added the chipboard sentiment next and then a couple of brads, all from the He Said She Said line.  I wrapped the card with a bit of linen thread and added the circle on top of it.

Don't you love that saying?  I couldn't help but us it!

For my last card, I used the mosaic technique, cutting off bits of the tape with my scissors.  The scissors give it a straight edge that resembles tiles:

I stamped my sentiment on the patterned paper from the Stationery Noted line and then embellished it with a die cut banner, a chipboard banner, and a few black epoxy dots.  I finished off this look with my linen thread tied in a bow over the banners.

Don't you love how all the tapes look together?  The collections all work so well with each other!

Since these cards are all about the techniques, I thought I'd make a quick video for you visual learners! :)  Bear with me though- I'm a beginner videographer...

I hope I've inspired you to reach for your decorative tapes the next time you want to try a fun background technique!

You and Me Mini Album by Yvonne Blair featuring Stationary Noted

Hi everyone! Yvonne here today with Mini Album.  I did this mini for my daughter, it is featuring her and her boyfriend.  They have been together for 3 1/2 years and wanted a little photo shoot.  They asked me to take some pics of them, and of course that meant I had to do a little mini, hehehe.

Below is a close up of the binding. Hope that might help with the instructions.
 You and Me mini album

2-6 x 8 chipboard
Stationary Noted Papers:
1-8  x 12 Poppies side a
Wrap around chipboard and adhere, wait to adhere the inside of the front cover until we have the spine ready  to adhere.
1- 8 x 11 ¾ ledger side b, fold in half.
2-5 x 8 Polaroid side b, wait to adhere together.
1- 4 x 8 Damask. Score at 1” and 3”
1-8 x 11 ¾ Damask side b, fold in half.
1-8 x 11 ¾ Flowers side a, fold in half.
1-5 ¾ Damask side b
Adhere to the inside of the back cover chipboard.
1-6 x 8 Polaroid side b
Wait to adhere until we have the spine ready to adhere.

Cut a piece of black cardstock to 8x 8
Score at 2 ¾, 3, 3 ¼, 3 ½, 3 ¾, 4, 4 ¼, 4 ½, 4 ¾, 5, 5 ¼, 5 ½.
Fold on all the score lines.  You will want to create an accordion type fold throughout.  Once you have the accordion fold, you will want to adhere the accordion folds together skipping the center ¼ inch of each one. Then adhere the open parts of the folded pages to the cardstock.  The exception will be page two. For this page adhere one piece of the 5 x 8 Polaroid to the front accordion fold adhere the 1” piece of the scored damask paper to the right inside edge.  Now adhere the other 5 x 8 piece of Polaroid.  Fold the edge of Damask over the back side and adhere along the top and bottom to create a pocket.

Adhere the accordion fold cardstock to the inside of the front cover on the right side. Then adhere the folded cover paper to the chipboard.  This will create a seamless cover to page effect.
Adhere the back part of the accordion fold to the left side of the inside of the back cover.  Now adhere the 6 x 8 Polaroid side b to the inside of the back cover.
Apply Decorative tape to the edges of the spine and the back right edge of the book’s back cover.

Embellish as seen in pictures.

Shadow box by Suzanne Sergi using Stationery Noted

Happy Wednesday! Suzanne here with a shadowbox frame featuring Stationery Noted. This is one of my favorite collections. From the quotes, to the chipboard elements, and to the paper flowers, this is perfect for the everyday.

I have had this shadowbox in my stash for awhile, and thought it was perfect for creating an inspiration home decor item. I first painted the shadowbox with white acrylic paint, and then began building the individual windows. I started with selecting my favorite quote on the Quotes 12x12. I covered it with diamond dust, as I always love a touch of glitter! Then I decided what papers to use for the inside of the windows. Primarily, I pulled from the Polaroid 12x12 paper to use for the openings. Off to the left I used part of the Ledgers 12x12 to completely cover the right hand side windows.

Here you can see I used some of the paper flowers from the collection. I embellished the center with a damask that was found on one of the quotes. I simply punched it using a scallop punch, and covered it in glitter.  I also stamped the middle of the canvas butterfly using an older Teresa Collins stamp set. Covered the center of the butterfly with a chipboard element from the Stationery Noted. I added a bit more of detail using a small tag, and metal clip.

Detail of the the two bottom windows, using the Stationery Noted 12x12 Accessory sheet, and a brad found in the Far & Away collection.

I stamped the word par avion using the Stationery Noted stamp set underneath the owl.  I added more Teresa Collins bling, and a chipboard button for the center. Off to the right,  I cut apart a quote found on a small ticket, and embellished above with a punched butterfly. I added a bit of ribbon to the top of the paper.

One last detail of the windows. I really love all the bits, and pieces found throughout this shadowbox. An item that will serve as inspiration for yourself, or someone special to you! Thanks for stopping by, and see you back here tomorrow!

Clean & simple cards Keisha Campbell

Hello TCD's fans, Keisha here today! From time to time I enjoy making simple & clean cards with leftover scraps. It's a good way to get rid of scraps and make a fast project. I try to use every bit of a sheet of paper - I will always use a butterfly punch on left over bits from a used sheet of paper.

I have a drawer I keep extra (precut from scraps)butterflies & flowers. And when I use just a bit of paper, I will make other extra diecuts(to save for future projects)-like the large ticket diecut on the black card. Sometime a little bit of pattern paper is all you need!
