Vintage Finds layouts with Suzanne Sergi

Hello, everyone!

Suzanne here to share another one of my favorite releases from CHA. I love the new Vintage Finds Collection. It is definitely full of vintage charm as the name implies. The deep colors or orange, black, and touches of gold are perfect  for any photos!

This page is of my sweet little girl dressed up for a party. This collection paired beautifully with black, and white photos. So on both of the following pages you will see just that.

One of my favorite paper from this collection was the bingo cards found on the Bingo 12x12 paper.

They are perfect for layering right on top of one another as you see on my page. They were a perfect backdrop to the large paper bloom on this page. They would also be fabulous as a backdrop on a banner!

Here is a closeup of the paper blooms found in the Paper Flowers pack! Each pack has 36 flowers to choose from.

My final page is of my sweet son in his favorite cap! These photos are two years old, but to this day he loves this cap. He will not part with it, even though it is a bit too small for him now. The combination of the damask, and newsprint patterns found in this collection are gorgeous! I am also in love with the numbers found on the washi tape!

Now, love clocks, and so glad to find many different sizes on the Clocks patterned paper. I cut around the one I wanted, and using my die cutting machine, cut it so the clock would have a scalloped edge. Fast, and easy way to create your own unique embellishment from paper! A few buttons, brads, and another clock were used to add more details to the face of the large clock embellishment. I did add a bit of inking to it as well, by using the following stamp:

I had a great time creating with this gorgeous new line, and the Vintage Finds is definitely a must have this summer!

Hope your day is fabulous!

Father and Daughter Layout by Stacey Michaud

Father's Day is coming up soon and in celebration, I am sharing a Father and Daughter layout today.  It is perfect timing because we just had our first Father/Daughter dance at my Ella's elementary school.  It was so precious so see her dress up and share a special night with her dad.  He bought her a corsage and put on his formal suit, even though it would be 90 degrees in the gym.  In the process, I caught some priceless photos.

Photos that called for soft colors to help them pop.  Photos that needed themed die-cuts to tell a story.  I turned to the new Sweet Afternoon collection to help me document this event.

I wanted to keep the overall design simple, yet intricate.  Even a bit delicate.  I used one of the new Sweet Afternoon Stamps to place the No. stamp on the tag.  I also mixed collections by using a dragonfly trinket from the Fabrications line.

To make an interesting little cluster that closed in my titlework and united the photos, I used a strip of blue paper and a chipboard tag from the collection.  I added a brad and the little number stickers.

I wanted this page to be as delicate and pretty as my daughter looked that night, especialy when she was in the arms of her daddy!

Supplies:  Sweet Afternoon Chipboard Elements 1 & 2, Sweet Afternoon Die -Cut Sheets, Just Relaxing Paper, At the Picnic Paper, In the Garden Paper, Sweet Afternoon Clear Stamps, Fabrications Trinket, Brads from Timeless and Posh, Sweet Afternoon Stickers

Fabrications Canvas card in 3 easy steps by Amanda Jones

Hi TC fans! My life is pretty hectic at the moment and I know it’s the same for a lot of you as we head into summer. So today I’m sharing a quick card that you can re-create for any occasion in just THREE SIMPLE STEPS! Sounds good, right?

1.       Stamp the ‘Cherish’ stamp along the bottom of a 6x4 inch landscape card base. I then added a ‘baby girl’  rub-on, but you could use stamps or write by hand to add your own personalised greeting.
2.       Using twine, create a banner across the top of the card. I use a quick drying wet glue to adhere my twine as it’s easy and quick to work with.

3.       Add banner stickers randomly along the length of the twine to finish the card and add a festive touch!
Thanks for visiting!

Necklaces by Cheri Piles

I love the look of stamped images on glass. They are like mini versions of stained glass windows!

Make sure your glass is clean and stamp your images using an ink like "StazOn". I used Jet Black for the following necklaces.

Supplies: Fabrications Linen Floral rectangle stamp. Other: Glass rectangle, Copic markers, silver foil tape, chain, silver rings.
Stamp your image onto the back side and color in the upper flower with Copic markers. Adhere your rings to connect to your chain and then wrap the edges of the glass with the silver foil.

Supplies: Sweet Afternoon circular bird stamp. Other: Idea-ology Fragments, Copic markers, silver jump pings and chain.
To create this I stamped the image and colored in the bird and flowers - so simple and fun!

Supplies: Fabrications Linen "Live Love Laugh" ssquare stamp. Idea-ology Fragment - square.
For this one I kept it really simple by just stamping onto the fragment and adding the jump ring and chain.

*TIP!TIP!TIP!* If for any reason your stamp accidentally slides when you stamp your image onto the glass.... I found that nail polish remover 'just happens' to remove the permanent ink! Just sayin! ;)

Junk Mini Book - by Julie Jacob

Every year our family visits this huge tulip garden.  I love going and taking pictures.  :)
For the rest of the family, it's pretty much referred to as 'the dreaded trip to the tulips'.
Heavy on the dreaded.  They know there's going to be tons of pictures, and it takes an hour to get there.
In fact, my oldest, who is going off to college this fall....ranks 'not having to go to the tulips' pretty high on his list of  'advantages of going to school 2,000 miles away'.

I wanted to make a little mini book of my 2012 tulip pictures...especially since they won't have Luke in them anymore after this year. :(
I call this book my junk book, because I literally used whatever junk was at hand to make it.

The cover is approximately 5x7(ish)...and is made out of corrugated cardboard.  I think it was a piece that came with a box in the mail.  You could totally just use the box itself.  I peeled most of the smooth part off, to expose the corrugated area.  I added the patterned paper (Fabrications Canvas) and doo-dads...and then gave the edges a quick messy layer of paint.

For the inside pages...again, I just grabbed whatever I had handy.  This first page is actually 5 pages torn out of an old book (make sure it's not a smelly old book).

I folded over 3 of the pages and sewed the edges.  The photo is tucked into the pocket.

The family picture page is a piece of thin chipboard that came with a box of goodies in the mail.
I covered it with Fabrications paper, and added the photo.  Also tape.  I am LOVING washi tape lately.

The next page is a shipping tag covered in paper.  I love that big fat bird punch (he's also on the cover).

This next page is a manilla file folder cut down to fit the book.  I misted it & added dictionary paper.
Then the photo & doo dads.  The stamp is a custom one I made with my TC Stampmaker.  Love that thing! :)
This blurry photo shows the file folder opened up.  I misted it first...and then again with the washi tape on the right side.
On the back of the folder page, I used an embossing folder & my Cuttlebug.  Then I sanded it so you can see the numbers.  The right page is another set of book paper...this time folded straight down.  It's hard to see but the photo sticks up over the pocket.  I could slide goodies in behind the picture if I wanted.

The last page is another piece of thin chipboard.  And the back cover is another corrugated cardboard piece.  Ta-da!!  Junk book. :)

Memories Fabrications Card by: Sesil Cratin

Sesil here to share another quick card using Fabrications Collection.
I created this card in less than 30 minutes.

Using the 6x6 pad I used the Floral Garden paper as the main pattern paper.
Next using an embossing ink and powder I heat embossed the image to make it have a raised texture.
Then I added a punched border along with some bling and ribbon. Finally I added the Sticker with Therm O Web Foam Squares and added the pearls on the tag.

Hope you enjoyed my quick card using Fabrications Canvas Collection.

Together - Sweet Afternoon Layout by Dedra Long

Hi Everyone!
It's official.....I'm still completely in love with the Sweet Afternoon Collection. I don't know about you, but I love to journal on all of my pages and projects. Whenever I'm looking at paper I always turn each one over to see if one side happens to have any sort of lines or ledger on them. While I love to journal on my layouts and projects I have a huge phobia when there are no lines on the paper.
Weird, right?
So, whenever I see a collection that has at least one side with lines or ledger I get super excited.

For this layout I made the Sweet Afternoon "With a Book" paper my foundation. Then I cut strips out of four other patterned papers, as well as one solid, then stamped and stitched over each one. Next, I stamped and clustered the die cut cardstock banner pieces and finished with the journaling.

Supplies:
Sweet Afternoon "With a Book" Paper, Sweet Afternoon "Flying Kites" Paper, Sweet Afternoon "Going Downtown" Paper, Sweet Afternoon "In the Garden" Paper, Sweet Afternoon "Just Relaxing" Paper, Carolina Breeze "Shelley" Paper, Sweet Afternoon Stamps, Fabrications Stamps, Sweet Afternoon Die Cut Accessories, Sweet Afternoon Cardstock Stickers

Sweet Afternoon "Remember" Layout by Dedra Long

For me the Sweet Afternoon Collection is one of Teresa's best collections. The soft palette, the mix of pinks, blues and very light grays makes this collection perfect for many different events and family members. From babies, to a wedding, to holidays and even teenagers.
Working with this collection to document my oldest daughters Prom, that only a select few Sophomores get to attend was amazing. The papers, embellishments are so easy to work with.

The designer papers in this collection coordinate so well together, that mixing and matching them is effortless. Each combination of papers I put together was beautiful, but I went with this choice for a couple of reasons. Shelby's favorite color is blue and she can be a girly girl. She loves dressing up, etc. which in my mind says the color pink, like a princess.
The other thing I love about the soft color palette is, if you choose to use a color photo or a back and white photo, it will "pop" off the page.

The list of supplies used in this layout:
Sweet Afternoon Just Relaxing Paper
Sweet Afternoon In the Garden Paper
Sweet Afternoon Flying Kites Paper
Sweet Afternoon Going Downtown Paper
Carolina Breeze Shelley Paper
Sweet Afternoon Stamps
Spring Fling Stamps
Fabrications Stamps
Everyday Moment Stamps
Sweet Afternoon Decorative Brads

"Cherish" Layout by Dedra Long

The most wonderful and inspiring thing about the collections Teresa designs, is the ease and classic styles that you can literally mix and match. To create the layout below I used four different collections. Which is so fun. Sitting down, spreading out, laying your different papers, die cuts, stamps etc. Inter-mixing floral, classic and clean styles all together.

This layout was all about the layered effect. I chose my base 12" x 12" paper, then I layered two coordinating pieces of paper, cut to fit side by side. Then I cut the third paper to layer on top of the others. Finishing it off with three coordinating die cut cardstock pieces.

I have to say that I love the detail in Teresa's acrylic stamps. All of the stamped images were the last thing I added to complete the design I wanted. I have finished many layouts and projects over the years wishing I would have added some stamped images. Being frustrated, I have discovered a little trick.
When I want to add a stamped image it's always helped that the image is acrylic, so you know exactly where the image will land, because I can see it through the acrylic block I'm using. I go ahead and put the stamp on my acrylic block and then I put the image over my layout where I want to add it. I then, eye-ball how far or what piece of the image I want to use. Then, I only ink that part of the stamp. To me that is how stamps become versatile, who says you have to use the whole image?
For the "cherish" stamp (in the first photo) I only used about 75% of the stamp. If I would have used the entire image it would have gone further off the page then I wanted. Hopefully, this will help you out the next time you're bummed because you would have liked to add a stamped image to your masterpiece.

Thanks for stopping by!
