Guest Designer Brianne Nevill using ON THE EDGE

What is your scrapbooking style?
I would describe my style as clean line scrapbooking with attention to detail.

How did you start scrapbooking?
I remember receiving a Creative Memories scrapbook from my neighbor at my high school graduation open house.  It must have sat on a bookcase for about two years before I picked it up again.  My college friends and I would tape photos of ourselves in the book and write funny comments on construction paper to remember good (and crazy) memories.  It was not until 2006 when a girlfriend of mine reintroduced me to “scrapbooking” so that we could document our children’s lives.

What influences your designs?
Anything; everything.  This is going to sound crazy but I was once in a public restroom when the pattern of the tile on the wall caught my eye and I KNEW it would make a great page design!   Needless to say I had to take a photo of it with my iPhone.

How long do you spend working on a layout?
It can be anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour plus; I normally sketch out all of my layouts prior to pulling photos or paper.  If I have sketched the design prior, a layout can come together very quickly for me.  If I don’t have a design in mind ahead of time, I can spend WAY too much time moving items around on the page before settling on the final product (I can be overly critical of myself).

What does your work area look like while you are working on a project? Clean and organized? Messy and all over the place?
Organized by not always clean.  I create best in my studio when everything is labeled and easy to find.  I have a label maker addiction but am currently seeking professional help.

What is your favorite color combination
Black, White and Tiffany Blue.

Do you have any other hobbies?
Jeepin’ or doing something outdoors with my handsome husband and our little guy, watching chick flicks (or my DVR’d TV shows) or reading murder mysteries.

Brianne made this adorable project with the TC line “On the Edge” and the coordinating Core’dinations line.

Thank you so much Brianne for sharing your work with us!

We have a winner and one last TOMBOW Project

We had so much fun with the Tombow blog hop!  We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.  Before we announce the winner we wanted to share with you one last project using Teresa Collins On the Edge collection and Tombow Dual Brush Pens.

Sesil Cratin  was able to use the Dual Brush Pens to create a fun card.

Using the One the Edge Stamp Set she was able to use the Dual Brush Pens to create a rainbow color stamped border.  First she started off by coloring in the images starting with the lightest color first.

Stamp and Marker

Next she stamped the image on white paper.  Here is the stamped image.

Next she cut out the stamped image and layered up her papers for the card front. Using the 3d Foam Tabs to help create dimension.

Then she added the crest to the center of the card using the 3d Foam Tabs to finish off the card.

So without further delay.  Our winner of the Tombow/Teresa Collins Prize pack goes to "JEAN"!!!
Congratulations Jean!  Please e-mail your mailing address to sesil@teresacollinsdesigns.com so we can get the prize pack out to you.  Thank you everyone for stopping by, make sure to stop by later this week.  We have an amazing Guest Designer with an amazing project to share.

First we have Colette! We love how Colette created this fun quick and easy layout.

Tombow/ Teresa Collins On the Edge : Polka Dot eggs
Designed by: Colette Nederhoff (http://nederhoffco.blogspot.com)
Featuring: Teresa Collins On the Edge (teresacollins.typepad.com)
Tombow Crafty Collection Markers

Supplies:
5 X 7 photo White Cardstock: Office Max
Teresa Collins On the Edge paper: Sheilds, Griffin, and Gears
Teresa Collins On the Edge Chipboard Elements, decorative brads, and trims
Tombow Crafty Collection Retro Markers
Stickles Crystal
Glitter
Tombow 3D foam Tabs
Tombow stamp runner adhesive
Punchinello

Instuctions:
1. Cut a strip of Griffin paper to 6 1⁄2 inches wide. Place this vertical strip about 11/4 inch away from the left edge of the Sheilds (blueside)
paper and glue in place.
2. Mat the photo with white cardstock. Also cut a 3” X 6” wide piece of white cardstock. Trim off the top corners to make a tag. Use the
Tombow markers to write your journaling. Place a brad at top of tag and set aside.
3. Cut a piece of punchinello to 12 inches wide. Cut a piece of the TCD ribbon to 18 inches and tie a knot in one end leaving a small tail.
Weave the ribbon thru the punchinello going to around an inch from the end. Tie another knot to secure. There will be some ribbon left
over. Set aside.4. Cut a strip of GEARs paper to include 2 rows of gears. I colored them in with all the bright colors of markers alternating colors. ADD some
stickles to the GREEN circles ONLY-- just to be creative!!!
5. Color the 3 chipbboard elements gears with the markers. 6. To assemble:
Place the matted photo on top of the Griffin strip toward top left. Place the Punchinello across the bottom of the page under the photo. Glue down. Add the Journaling Tag with 3 D foam tabs Tie 2 Gears on the remaining tail of the ribbon hanging on the right
side. Attatch them after you tie the knots to secure. The last gear is added to top left of photo.

Tombow Duel Tip Markers (tombowusa.com)

I wanted to share my process of how I created this layout.  I was faced with many obstacles but I was able to overcome them with confidence and I was pleasantly surprised with the result.  Here is my layout.

My first challenge is that I didn't have the right color letters for the title of my page. So I decided to create my title buy using a resit technique using the Tombow Dual Tip Marker and Teresa Collins On The Edge Distressed Dot Paper. Here are letters I liked, but as you can see the letters are pink.

My pink letters for my layout.  Problem #1

I decided to pull out this tool.  I call it my spatter tool.  I purchased this many years ago through an SU! Consultant.

SU!'s Splatter tool

I attached the Tombow Dual Tip Marker (brush side) through the holder and placed the tip of the marker at the end of the of the sprayer.

Marker at the tip of the splatter tool.

Next I used the Stamp Runner to temporarily adhere the wooden letters to the pattern paper.

Using the Stamp Runner

Once the letters were in place I just sprayed the letters.

spraying the wooden letters.

Then I removed the letters and traced around the letters to make the title POP off the page.

I continued to spray the rest of the paper with the other colors to give my background more color.  Simply attached all the other pieces to the layout and added the picture with the stamp runner.
Here is the layout completed.

I had fun using the Markers and Teresa's On the Edge collection.  Thank you for letting me share my obstacles and solutions with you on the Tombow/ Teresa Collins Blog hop.

Make sure you stop by the Tombow blog {HERE}, Check out their facebook page {here} and tell them that Teresa Collins sent you!  We will be doing a giveaway at random to one lucky person, so stay with us to see how to win a prize.  But for now, enjoy the blog hop.
