Looking Forward

Hey there everyone Stacy here with you today.  I can't tell you how excited I am with the project i'm going to share with you today.  When the fabulous Now & Then line arrived at my doorstep I couldn't get the box open fast enough.  Once it was open and I touched and looked at everything....I didn't want to cut any of the paper lol!  I was not sure what I was going to create...then it hit me and the paper trimmer was getting a work out.

I created a mini album for the 365 days of 2013 to come.  The chipboard pieces really pulled this cover together with that theme in mind!

Here is a little close up for you.  Notice the enamel dots in the center of the Clocks pattern paper!

So the inside of the album is full of pages with pockets to place your photos in for every month of the upcoming year along with spots for journaling.  Now all I simply have to do is take photos, print, and place them where they belong...how easy is that!  I'll share a few photos of the inside with you here.

This is a close up of the first page.

A fun little flip page for you to try!

Here is what it looks when you lift the flap up.

So I have a fun give-a-way on my blog today thanks to Teresa...hop over there for your chance to win a 6x6 paper pad of Now & Then.

I hope this album inspires you to create a great place for your memories.

Family Focus - Now and Then layout by Amanda Jones

Whenever I pull out my Teresa Collins supplies to create a layout, I am always inspired to scrapbook family connections.

Despite the versatility of the latest lines, the papers and embellishments seem to draw me to scrapbooking those little family moments. The things that seem small now, but will be big things one day.

This photo was taken in the summer when my son and I took my Great Aunt out for lunch. I know that these type of things are the things I will be grateful I had the opportunity to do, one day.

The Now and Then line had the perfect colour combo for my photo :) What are the small things that you'd like to remember?

Have a great day!

Young love featuring Now and Then by Yvonne Blair

Hi Everyone. So excited to share a layout with Teresa's new Now and Then Line!!! I LOVE this line. The colors are amazing.  Love that the blue in the line matches denim perfectly. So fun for casual photos.

I did a photo shoot with my daughter and her boyfriend Wesley a couple of weeks ago and I knew as soon as I saw them they were going to be a perfect match for Now and Then.  This is just one of the pics from the shoot, but it is my daughter's favorite.  She said I had to use it first, wink.
I "fussy" cut some of the flowers from the floral paper and popped those with foam tape around the photo.

Here are some close ups so you can see how it looks popped.  I love to add dimension to my layouts.  I feel it gives them a little life.  I also used some of the new enamel dots...Oh how I love these little pieces of goodness, wink.
I hope you enjoyed.  Have a great week.  Until next time...

Happy Friday! by Suzanne Sergi

Happy Friday!
Suzanne here with a couple of new cards featuring the Now & Then collection. I love, love this collection. You may remember a calendar I created with  Teresa's Vintage Finds collection. I want to make a new one using Now & Then. It would not hurt to have two calendars to begin the New Year!

Now & Then has a vintage elegance, so I wanted to create a couple of sophisticated  cards. They will be perfect to have on hand for celebrating that special moment! For the first card, I  chose a mahogany, and pinks color palette. I added bits of vellum, punched circles from the patterned papers found in the Now & Then 6x6 paper pad. I added a brad to the center of the bloom, and a final detail was the tiny inked tag.

Here is a detail of the layered bloom:

I love to stamp where possible, and a simple image on the tiny tag, adds just the right amount of charm. I took the chipboard banner from the 12x12 chipboard sheet, and cut it in half. Tucked it right behind the paper bloom to add movement to the right hand side of the page.

Finally, I added the bee border strip right along the bottom, and a bit of word embossing to add to my sentiment on the card.
This card has a blue color palette. I really love the way the blue paired with the text paper. I separated the two patterns using the silver scallop border from the decorative border strips found in Now & Then.

Again, can't quite stay from vellum, and simply punched a couple of flowers to pair nicely with the flowers already created for us in this  collection, too! Another tiny tag hanging from the bloom. You can kind of see a pattern with both cards. If it is working for you on one card, why not try it on the next card? It makes designing so simple! A few changes, here & there, makes for two beautiful cards featuring Teresa's new collection!

Have a fabulous weekend, and I hope you find some creative time for yourself!

Now and Then Altered File Folder by: Sesil Cratin

Sesil here today. As you know I have a love of tags. Today's project is something to hold some of my tags I create, an altered file folder. I love that the folder is just an extension of the tags and everything in one place.

Here are some picture of the tag fold outs I created to put in the altered file folder.
To create this easy fold out is to cut one strip of paper to "connect" the two tags together then decorate. It was a quick and easy way to decorate two tags at the same time and a fun interactive piece to the project.

Thank you for letting me share my project with you today.

Every Day of the Year by Stacey Michaud

Why do I love Teresa Collin's products?  It could surely have something to do with the colors, patterns and variety.  It mostly has to do with the feelings behind her collections.  Yep, the words she choses to include, the sentiments she conveys on her stickers...they hit the nail on the head.

Every time...

The new Now and Then collection is amazing.  I love the feel of it...how it focuses on the everyday, yet captures the significance it the small moments.

I fell hard for the days of the week chipboard pieces.

I decided to use a full week of them on this layout.  It helps me to convey the love I feel for my family.  I went with the horizontal feel of the chipboard pieces by using strips of patterned paper and some die-cuts.  To keep the layout dynamic, I simply staggered the chipboard.  It adds a bit of curves to all the straight lines.

I also created that little cluster on the top.  See the new Enamel Dots on the ends of my banners.  I seriously love these!

Teresa helps me to tell my stories.  That is what scrapbooking is all about!

Apple of my Eye

I had a lot of fun with all the yummy embellishments in this collection ... so much fun, in fact, that I put a little bit of everything on this page: chipboard, brads, stickers, diecuts and buttons :-)

Mini Gift Pillows

If you have ever prepared Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, you know how exhausting and labor-intensive the day can be.  If you're lucky enough to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving feast made by someone else, why not thank your hosts with something special and handmade!

These mini "Thankful" pillows are a sweet token of appreciation and gratitude for all of your host's hard work.

I  used some beautiful elements  from the Now and Then collection to show  scrapbook embellishments aren't just for paper!

These were super quick and easy to make, so let's get started!

Use a heart template to trace onto the muslin and cut out muslin heart pieces.   Sew along the edges of the heart and leave a small opening on the side so you can put the fiberfill inside.     Turn pillows right side out so seams are inside, stuff the fiberfill inside the pillow and sew seam up.

Next, cut a heart out of felt and do a running stitch around the edges of the felt. I kind of cheated by just gluing the felt heart with fabric glue on top of the pillow instead of sewing it on....but it worked just fine!

I finished the pillows off by embellishing them with buttons, stickers, and decorative brads from the Now and Then collection. I also used ribbon and bakers twine from the Vintage Finds collection.

Another fun idea is to make these into lavender sachets by adding a ribbon on top and filling them with lavender for hanging in a closet.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!

Supplies used-
Decorative Brads
Stickers
Buttons
Medallion
Bakers Twine
Ribbon
Border Strips

Chalkboard Minibook by Julie

Have you ever had a project that you love...and when you get it all done, you don't like the title anymore?
Or you spelled something wrong?
Or you just changed your mind...but now it's too late because the stickers or whatever are all stuck down, and changing it would involve lots of work.  And you really don't FEEL like lots of work, because...well, it's work...and you just don't.
Or maybe the title seemed like a good idea at the time:

This minibook is all about spending an amazing day at the Fair with my daughters.  Plural.  In retrospect, the title 'You're my favorite' probably isn't such a good idea.  Unless of course, you want to start a fight.

Much easier just to change the title.  And you can....because it's a chalkboard. :)
And it's super easy to make.
{This is where I would insert the step by step pictures I took, and then deleted off my card. }
Here's what you do:
1.  Cut 2 pieces of chipboard to the size you want.  (One will be the chalkboard base, and the other will be the frame you adhere on top of it.)
2.  Paint one piece with chalkboard paint.  I used Craft Smart (super cheap at Michael's)...but you can use Martha Stewart or any kind, really.  I did 3 coats.
3.  Using an X-acto knife, cut the center out of the other chipboard piece for your frame.  Cover with paper, or paint...whatever you like.
4.  Glue frame over chalkboard when dry.

Much better.  And no fighting. :)  This book is 6x8...I made it with the Now & Then line.  Here are the inner pages:

I kind of had a a pocket theme in mind.  And in case it's not super clear, Belle (on the left) has a stuffed iguana on her shoulder...and Shelby has a stuffed snake.  They KNOW how much I adore snakes.

Oh, and that cute little arrow stamp from the set?  I think I used it on every page.

This page flips open:

I go on the Ferris Wheel with the girls every year.  Not because I love it.  Because it's tradition.
Heights never used to bother me, but they do now.  Now the Ferris Wheel makes me feel all barfy.
I used the HAPPY chipboard pieces because Teresa didn't make any that spelled BARFY.  (I will ask her about next time.)

I do love funnel cake though.  Funnel cake makes me feel happy.  I probably should have used those on the funnel cake page.
The right hand side is two little half pages.

Both my girls don't get scared on rides.  They mocked me mercilessly on the stupid Ferris Wheel.

Another pocket page on the right.

So fun to journal with stickers.  (Again, except for the lack of a 'barfy' sticker...the line is PERFECT!)

Another tradition....my older daughter on the merry-go-round. :)

I had so much fun making this little book.
And hey, if one of my girls ticks me off...I can always go back and change the title to 'Shelby, you really ARE my favorite'.

Kidding.  Sort of.
Happy November!
